Background
Simya grew up in the slums of Nal Hutta with a small, poorer family. After Simya's father passed away during her youth, Simya's mother struggled to make ends meet, taking up dirty jobs, prostituting, dancing, and waitressing at clubs around Nal Hutta. Simya spent a night at the club once when her mother could not find a babysitter, and she learned to gamble from an old man. During her teen years, she grew rebellious, eventually stealing her mother's credits and betting them all away, wasting money that was intended to allow escape to a better planet.
Simya tried to win back her losses with each paycheck, but her family slowly left her when they realized she was beyond help. Simya eventually "won" big and bought a one-way ticket to wherever the hell our story begins.
Motivation
Simya wants to escape her past on Nal Hutta, but she finds herself dragged back into her criminal ways by her addiction. She wants to earn more money to "prove her family wrong," earning a good life for herself that they could only have wanted.
However, Simya's losses have racked her up a 15,000 credit debt from Hutt lenders who now want her money or her head.
