Background
Reeve Helo was born on Coruscant just before the Republic fell, leaving him to grow up immersed in Imperial culture. Showing a natural aptitude for mechanics and computers, he was conscripted as a junior Imperial mechanic on Tatooine, doing menial maintinence tasks on Lambda shuttles—resetting navicomputers, replacing oxygen filters and topping off the space-windshield washer fluid.
In a matter of weeks he became frustrated and bored by his lowly duties, so he began taking bribes, skimming parts, spoofing Imperial codes and performing illegal modifications. He was hilariously bad at covering his tracks, so within a month or two a pair of Stormtroopers showed up at the garage to investigate the discrepancies.
Reeve completely freaked out when he heard his boss selling him out in the next room, so he stole the Imperial shuttle he was working on. But in his haste he wound up crashing into the other side of the planet, damaging a warehouse and making a spice deal go bad. To make up for the damages, he began to work for the spice dealers, repairing their weapons and ships while adding in illegal and highly lethal modifications as directed.
He began to feel constricted again, partially because he was getting paid peanuts compared to the rest of the team, and partially since he was essentially doing the same work from before, only this time for criminals instead of Imperials. Eventually he stole a fistful of credits and paid off a smuggler to take him offworld, where he sought to seek out a crew that would appreciate him as more than just a mechanic.
Motivation
Reeve would like nothing more in life to retire on a pleasure yacht surrounded by beautiful ladies and drinks for days. This means he tends to value credits above all else. He doesn't think of himself as a bad guy, per se, but he is willing to bend the rules, break the law and do some distasteful things if it means a bigger payday.
Obligations
Blackmail 10
Criminal 10
Reeve is wanted by the Imperials for desertion, but as his position was so menial and lowly that there's no reason the Empire would waste the manpower to track him down. But recently, cryptic messages have been sent to Reeve's datapad. Every message includes very specific details about Reeve; where his ship is going, what ID tags he's running under, even what clothes he wore last week.
The messages always end with a threat to expose him to the Empire; sure they aren't really looking for him now, but if they had these details they'd probably send Stormtroopers his way. Sometimes the mysterious messenger ask for credits, sometimes they demand a favour, but it's always clear: someone knows where Reeve is and is ready to expose him to the Empire if he doesn't do what they say.
Description
Reeve Helo is gangly and thin. He always tries to look as confident as possible. He has unkempt hair and wears a dirty old coat that has every pocket stuffed with old parts and junk pieces.
