Background
1) Nasirn was only three when he first discovered his Force-sensitivity, when his parents caught him making a bowl levitate off the ground. Within days of his discovery, Nasirn was abducted by a group of mysterious individuals he would come to know as the Obsidian Cult, who were a group of dark-siders based in the Ferran system, not far from the Unknown Regions.
2) Although Nasirn was a gifted student of the Obsidian Cult, he felt that he was smart enough to warrant access to any knowledge he could find. The cult leader, a Bothan by the name of Gor Grissom, disagreed with that hypothesis, and almost choked Nasirn to death after his obsession with acquiring knowledge led to him opening an ancient, and very restricted Sith holocron.
3) After going through a trial involving the deception, kidnapping and interrogation of a suspected light-sider, Nasirn was plagued with guilt, but at first, he couldn't understand why. As sleep eluded him for some nights after his trial, Nasirn came to the realisation that this was the Force calling to him, beckoning him to the Light. This, as well as a desire to expand the horizons of his knowledge, led to Nasirn fleeing the Obsidian Cult, boarding a shuttle that was leaving from Ferran's spaceport, and setting out looking for a man with a green lightsaber that had appeared in his dreams. Nasirn would soon learn by piecing stories together that this man was Luke Skywalker himself, and that he was rebuilding the Jedi Order. Nasirn made a vow that he would try and find this New Jedi Order, and that he would help out any way he could, if they let him in.
4) Nasirn made a friend in the form of Nlarme'itom'pairec (often called Meitom), a female Chiss who was also stolen from Csilla. Meitom's desire for power rivalled Nasirn's thirst for knowledge, and the two were practically inseparable, until Nasirn made the decision to leave the Obsidian Cult. Nasirn reckons Meitom will be out for blood, and fears for the day she finds him.
5) Leaving the Obsidian Cult was, to say the least, a big decision for Nasirn to make, especially given how he was one of Grissom's prized pupils. Nasirn was also loathe to leave Meitom behind, for he harboured feelings for the woman. However, Nasirn ultimately knew his departure was the right thing to do, as he felt like he would be able to serve the Force better if he had all the answers.
Zran'air'nouzzu, or Nasirn, as most tend to call him, was born with more childlike curiosity than most, and that curiosity persisted even into early adulthood. Nasirn is a 'victory child', a child conceived in the wake of the Battle of Endor, however after his upbringing, little of that child remains. He was only three when he was abducted by a sinister group of dark-siders belonging to the Obsidian Cult, a group that worshipped the same ideals the Sith themselves followed, but believed the Sith were too weak to finish the job of killing all the Jedi. Gor Grissom, the cult leader and a Bothan with a fearsome reputation, had identified Nasirn through the Force as a rising star, and so had given the order to steal him away from his family on Csilla.
Nasirn certainly had talent; even into early adulthood, he absorbed information like a sponge, and even though social interactions did not come easily to him, he had a unique ability to analyse those he conversed with, so as to better understand them and predict their angle or motive. Nasirn was to be Grissom's secret weapon, one that would act as a sleeper agent to the public, identifying Jedi and other such individuals for the Obsidian Cult to terminate, so as to bring about an obsidian-black end to all who walked the path of the Light. On the outside, Nasirn seemed ruthless, pragmatic and ambitious, qualities which Grissom liked to see in his pupils.
Nasirn, however, had harboured reservations of the Obsidian Cult's goals and methods for years before he ran away, telling not even his close friend, Nlarme'itom'pairec (or Meitom). These reservations were also fuelled by his latent curiosity for secrets of the Force, and a part of him believed that by wiping out light-siders, the Obsidian Cult (or more specifically, Nasirn himself) would never be able to figure out how to achieve true power in the Force. To that end, he left for the wider galaxy, in a desperate search for Luke Skywalker's New Jedi Order, in the hopes that they could give him that which he sought, and perhaps give him the training needed to dismantle the Obsidian Cult once and for all.
Motivation
Motivation - Cause - Restore the Jedi:
Despite being taught that the Jedi were the root of all 'evil' in the galaxy, Nasirn had a feeling that what he was being taught was not necessarily the truth. Combined with his lust for knowledge, he abandoned the Obsidian Cult and searched for Luke Skywalker, hoping that by joining his New Jedi Order, and helping him rebuild, he would finally have that which he craves, and which he almost died to find.
Morality
Morality: 54
Emotional Strength - Curiosity:
Unusually so for a Chiss, Nasirn has always harboured a desire to study the wider galaxy, and see how other beings live. It is this same curiosity which compelled him to escape from the Obsidian Cult and explore other aspects of the Force.
Emotional Weakness - Obsession:
Nasirn took a great risk in fleeing from the Obsidian Cult, and now feels that he must make the risk worthwhile. As such, he will do all he can to find the knowledge which he seeks, even if it risks alienating him from his peers and masters.
Description
Standing at 6ft tall, Nasirn possesses a slim build, well-trimmed hair and the tell-tale crimson eyes that all Chiss possess. He is intelligent, even by Chiss standards, but is also wilful and resourceful, having spent a significant portion of his life on the run.
He has a habit of studying those with whom he converses, so as to better understand them and make sure to not offend them by accident. Due to the rushed nature of his departure, and the fact that social skills were hardly on the Obsidian Cult's agenda, he is not terribly sociable.
