Background

Vas Manchana was the greatest throat singer in the town of Huchasa on Dressel. Excited by the ever-encroaching galaxy and the possibilities it holds along with the popularity of interstellar acts like Sy Snoodles, Vas’ town raised enough money to get him passage off-world on a bulk cruiser. He now tries out for every opportunity he finds, ever-eager to make it big and have enough money to be able send some back to support his village and their Selseli bird farms.

Vas has contrasting aspects. As a Dressellian, he has lived in a primitive society for most of his life, so the galaxy is magical to him. He has to turn that part of his brain that sees the wonder off because he doesn’t want to be seen as a novelty, even though his act is kind of novel. He doesn’t want to be an outsider. His success as a novelty would be fleeting and he needs true success for both his good and the future of his home village.

Motivation

Vas wants to be the best throat singer in the galaxy. He's not a cut-throat singer, and would prefer to go about things fairly: contests and competitions, finding an agent, getting signed to a major label, someday singing with the Hanji Rhythm Experience.

Obligations

8 - Responsibility: Vas needs to send money back to Huchasa. His people... family, friends, even strangers... they put everything on the line to get him off-world. And those big birds aren't going to feed themselves.

2 - Debt: Vas owes Challa, a Kakarodon loan shark, 400 credits... but doesn't want to pay him.

Description

Vas Manchana has brown wrinkly skin with an elongated head. He wears fur-lined cape and loud-colored clothing.

Other Notes

Primative: Dressellians upgrade the difficulty of any checks involving advanced technology. This counts as any technology not available on the Dressellian's home planet, though individual pieces of technology they become familiar with over an extended period of time can become exempt from this at the GM's discretion.
