Background
Dak Fender was born into an orbital asteroid mining culture, and thrived as a fitter and blaster. Then the Empire came, inserting slavery and abuse into Dak’s life. The following general strikes, revolt, sabotage and resulting starvation blockade led to widespread suffering. The Rebel Alliance offered an escape option, trading an outlet for the destruction of the mining equipment and resources the Empire desired to control.
Now Dak’s family lives on an Alliance safeworld, and Dak has committed to supporting not only those safeworlds and the fleet that shrouds and guards them, but also putting his particular skills to work to reach out and hurt the empire – a little or a lot at a time. After signing up as an Alliance operator, he has heard of possible assignments to a Fleet Marine unit due to his hard vacuum experience, and also to SpecOps as an explosive handler and potential saboteur. It seems he destined to learn on the job – as an apprentice operative – which Dak is just fine with.
Motivation
Dak is motivated by the horrors he and his family witnessed during the Imperial occupation and attempt to monopolize the resources it wanted. He saw Wookiees and Ugnaughts abused, tortured and killed as slaves. His family members died during the resistance. The Rebel Alliance rescued him, his family and his friends, and has provided shelter to his family on a Rebel safe world. Now he seeks to guard and supply the Rebel Safe worlds and the fleet which guards them, while also applying pressure and pain to the Empire through acts of sabotage wherever possible.
Duties
11 duty points
Dak looks to support the Rebel Alliance in general, but in particular he seeks to find and acquire supplies, equipment, weapons, vehicles and ships to support the Rebellion. However, if something can't be repurposed to aid the Rebellion, Dak is fully prepared to destroy and disable whatever it is - often with a fusion torch or a controlled detonation.
Description
Dak is of average height, and average build, with black hair and green eyes. He has a confident air, the appearance of a keen eye, and a slight lilt to his tone. He has slightly rough appearance – sort of working crew appearance – which he doesn't seem overly interested in upgrading, even when funds allow.
Dak is extremely intolerant of the incompetent, the lazy, and those who steal from others hard work. He rabidly hates slavery and the Empire.
