Background
Cyrus comes from a farming community on Lothal. During the Imperial occupation he has participated with his parents in the resistance. The Empire has conscripted Lothalians into service and implemented harsh penalties for those who do not comply. Cyrus was drafted into the Imperial Navy because of his innate ability to fly and fix most anything. He refused the order and fled to Tangletown where he hid from any imperial presence. He worked odd jobs for a merchant to pay for his use of a room as a safe house. The merchant, not caring much about the cause or the imperial occupation, was tied to seedier elements of Lothal connected to the Pykes and Hutts finding profit in Lothal’s situation. He compelled Cyrus to fly contraband off of Lothal to neighboring systems where the Empire’s net was weakest and some ships could escape any blockade. On his last run for the merchant, Cyrus parked the ship and walked away not to look back.
Motivation
LIBERTY
Lothal is an occupied planet under the harsh rule of a imperial governor. Most residents of Lothal want peace and freedom as they had under the republic.
FREE ENTERPRISE
Getting a fast ship and running cargo across the galaxy is the best way to make money and too many rules and regulations really make that difficult.
Obligations
BLACKMAIL
An influential person on his home world of Lothal knows that he was conscripted into the Imperial Navy and failed to report for duty prior to his assignment. Smuggling out contraband for this person is his only way to keep the secret.
RESPONSIBILITY
Cyrus feels a strong connection with the people of Lothal and looks to help improve their situation, especially that of the smaller farming communities where he came from.
