Background
Current Legal Identity: Kai Muneo, freed citizen of Dikado (Tai’Kaado). Captain of the Megari Kai-yo. (aka, Kamak Kai, masked bounty hunter.)
The meaning of ”Kamak Kai” in Tai’Kadoian: The Wielder of Light & Barer of Shadow. “Kai” refers to the shining one, while “Kamak” refers to ghost or shadow.
“Megari Kaiyo” is the enormous giant of a sun shining over Dikado.
Born circa 20 BBY (Before Battle of Yavin), on Nar Shaddaa? During the age of Emperor Palpatine’s meteoric rise, at the conclusion of the Clone Wars, and about the time of Order 66. Kamak Kai’s age roughly being 28 to 30 now, 9 ABY.
In the Tai’Kaadoian (Dikadoian) dialect: ‘Kamak’ means Ghost, and ‘Muneo’ means New Moon.
The Gree A.I. refereed to Dikado as 49111415-LL. They sought to study the Force adept culture of the Tai’Kaadoian people. It was in this vision that Kai learned the Force Power: Manipulate Hardware.
[My god! Tai forgive me...I understand now the meaning of the name which comes to me in my dreams, ‘Kamak Kai’...it means ‘Kai’s Ghost’. But unless one understood the ideograms of Tai’Kaadoian calligraphy, the meaning of Kai could have equally been lost,’ he thought to himself. “Yes, of course, ‘the shinning one’ it means...’Kai’,’ he realized.
Kai searched through the darkness for something as he whispered to himself., “In translation, ‘Kamak Kai’ would mean the Shining Ghost! Follower of light; barer of Shadow. ...that is what I’ve become,” Kai said quietly under his breath. He stopped then, finding what he had been looking for. There, before him, rested the severed skullcap of his foe. He then bent over to pick it up, and then tied it by its hair to his belt.]
Rank of Master Sergeant in Rebel Alliance, former company: “Twilight Company” 61st Mobile Infantry Division. Served under Sergeant Maximian Ajax (deceased). Later given the tag of Commando to specify the type of missions assigned. Former operative in the SpecForce military branch. Kai & Rowan were their own two-member Fire Team; assigned to 2nd Regiment, “The Pathfinders”.
Kamak, having grown up homeless and without family on the streets of Nar Shaddaa, has experienced many traumatic events as a youth. Being resilient and resourceful, however, he learned how to survive the many dangerous, everyday encounters. These experiences, in turn, have left scars on Kamak’s psyche. He is reserved in social situations, and prefers silence and solitude. He can sometimes be awkward and hesitant about engaging in social situations. But he’s also proven to have a knack for deception and adopting false identities; allowing him to feel more comfortable in the company of others when operating under such pretenses. Yet there is earnest appreciation for hard work in his nature; and there’s a pervasive kindness underlying Muneo’s motivations. When he feels this is reciprocated by friends, he is at ease and friendly.
Muneo has very little formal education. Fortunately, he was taught to read and write in Aurebresh, the common travel tongue of the galaxy, and to some degree Tai'Kaadoian calligraphy by Master Miyadera Kan’s wife, Suzu-Chan. Having enticed Kamak at a very early age by the promise of regular meals and training in both unarmed combat and ancient swordplay techniques at Master Miyadera Kan’s doma, Kamak received a basic level of education in linguistic and mathematical literacy, as well as Tai’Kaadoian philosophy, poetry and painting. All due to the extreme kindness and care of Suzu-Chan’s tutelage.
While Master Miyadera Kan and Suzu-chan are Kamak Muneo’s earliest mentors and teachers, professionally speaking the Madalorian Bounty Hunter Trydon “Sheer Fox” Ryke is probably Kamak’s greatest influence. Prior to Kamak’s latest profession as a soldier in the Rebel Alliance, he was a low-ranking Bounty Hunter serving Doba the Hutt. Ryke taught Kamak how to follow marks without being noticed, to shoot an EE-3 carbine, and remain vigilant in the face of danger. Ryke was impressed by Kamak’s ability to come and go unnoticed as a street urchin and hold his own in a brawl on the streets of Nar Shadaa’s Dikado District. Ryke sought to solicit Kamak’s talents and connections with the local swoop bike gang Lozozuku ETT8 in his many-year effort to bring down the Huttese crime boss, Koggan. This 5 year effort trained Kamak well in the ways of bounty hunting which he in turn parlayed into work with Doba after Koggan’s infamous fall. This all occurred before meeting his closest friend and partner, Solus’Vi (aka Rowan Star) with whom he decided to join the Rebel Alliance.

Who Is Kamak/What Does He Seek:
“I am the one who seeks the razor’s edge, the path of harmony between periods of chaos and peace, the path of the Oversoul... I seek the ancient knowledge of heaven and earth’s co-existence. A time when strife turned to wisdom, and oppression turned to transcendence. When the many worlds and their myriad sages all sought the same peak from their different paths. When liberation was found in one’s resilience. When the starry heavens were no different from the barren skies. When—as my people, the Tai’Kaadoian’s shared—parivana was to become Patruvana. I want to know why the blade Kanta’Anu—Liberation’s Soul—was once named Anu’Dukha—the Soul’s Suffering. I am but one of many who seek the truth of their existence through the unfolding of their fate. What more could I truly say? My soul, parivana Anu is but one aspect of the Over-Soul, or Patruvana Anu. The Living Force is self aware and conscious through me. Not many could claim the same.”
