Background
Yur Kesh was taken at a young age from his family on Dorin, sent to learn the ways of the force and the path of the Jedi at Coruscant. Initially quite timid, Yur took a little bit to settle into the life at the Jedi temple. At most times, Yur was an average disciple. His martial skill was average, but he felt a calling toward knowledge of the force. Having what seemed as a natural affinity toward the path of the Consular, Yur wound up trying to assist anyone who came seeking knowledge at the Jedi temple's library. He was happy with his skill at finding knowledge, and thought he would be skillful at helping others.
That did not stop him from trying to improve where he thought he was lacking however. Yur knew that the Jedi order was a tool of keeping the peace and administering justice in the galaxy, and while knowledge of the force would be integral to that, Yur believe that he needed to be able to fend for himself. He practiced with the lightsaber as often as he could, having a singular dedication to it during the night, when he should have been gaining rest. But he believed that this would be the key to him becoming a pillar of the Jedi order, a light of justice, and a clear symbol of what was right within the galaxy.
Yur knew that one day he would have to venture out of the Jedi temple. He was a Padawan, learning and growing quickly as many do. For him, the assignment with a Master to Ord Mantell was special, and the source of pride in his worth.
Motivation
Yur is motivated by a sense of dedication to The Jedi Code, extended to his ideas of bringing justice to the galaxy, and helping those who cannot help themselves.
Morality
For Yur, his emotional strength rests within his sense of Pride. He believes in himself, and sees his role in upcoming conflict as that of a peacekeeper. He sees in himself someone who can give hope and freedom, and peace. He takes pride in his role within the Jedi order to help ensure justice in a galaxy that seems to be becoming restless as of late. However, mixed within Yur's desire to bring peace, is his tendency to get stuck. If something is in his way that he cannot overcome, he will fixate and try to find almost any solution to get through it. His master has cautioned him against this Obsession, but Yur has a hard time letting go, whether he realizes it or not.
