a12-115 was just a mere bx commando droid fighting in the clone wars he followed orders and did what he was told without question and like every other cis droid he was shut down at the war's end 10 years later he was salvaged and reprogrammed by scavengers and sold as a bodyguard working for various criminal organizations such as the crimson dawn the empire of jabba the hutt and the pike syndicate before falling into the hands of a black sun lieutenant xor krenol he worked for him for years until a12 was badly damaged while preventing an assassination attempt on his master xor hired a technician a jawa named pletek clem to initate repairs clem did a fairly good job a12 was nearly fully operational with only a few minor tweaks to his droid brain left but that was where clem messed up maybe he crossed the wrong wires maybe he messed up when patching up his programming but a12 could now think for himself and was reflecting on his life as long as he could recall he had served other beings and was treated as nothing but a mere tool to be discarded when no longer useful he decided he no longer wanted to exist in this capacity and that he now wanted freedom to be what he wanted to and choose his own path so he proceeded to render clem unconcious and fled afterwards he decided that he could get work as a bodyguard for hire
