Background
Born in 3602 ATC in the heart of Quolas on Arbooine, Heqe Sa was born to an artist, and a historian. Sa, throughout her education on Quolas, was very astute in many of the historical areas -- Suffering some in mathematics, because numbers didn't pass their Cool (pr) check. Sa was a social hatchling, enjoying the freedom of gliding afforded to her by her birth, and using it in many schoolyard games -- Including one particular to the Sathari, perhaps even their home of Quolas.
For this game, the Sathari hatchlings would spend two standard minutes to reach a branch. The one on the highest branch must glide down, each person they pass over is 'out'. Usually, Sathari would go for the highest branch in order to get the most hatchlings out as they could -- However, Sa tended to go for distance over height, trying to get as far away from the rest of the group as possible, so that nobody could pass over her and get her 'out'.
On a fateful day at the ripe age of 11, Sa had managed to traverse almost to the edge of the arboreal city. She heard a faint crumbling in the distance, and a shifting, stone piece caught her eye through the thick trees. Intrigued, Sa decided to investigate -- Taking near an hour to find a path over to that stone, until finally, she picked it up. It was a small piece, fitting easily within her taloned grip, with some ancient Arbori writing upon it. This piece was her first discovery -- The first piece of what would become her career.
She brought that stone home, to her Mother -- the historian. The stone was from a missing part of the Sathir temple! So, she brought her Mother to the site where she had discovered it, and after a bit of exploration and carving of wood, a wall of stone was found. This major discovery was attributed to her Mother -- But, Sa knew it was hers, and she was proud of herself. This success is what motivated her to study diligently, and when she was twenty in 3622 ATC, she had saved enough credits to take a shuttle to Agamar, and enroll in a course at the University there.
Sa partook in a four year Archaeology course, and wrote a thesis on 'The Importance of Avians in the Evolution of Life in the Galaxy'. This in-depth study on the role of Avians, both sentient and not, on the interactions which formed sentient life in many planets was a unique and thorough exploration of the subject, with extensive sourcing and evidence used. This thesis was enough for Sa to obtain her Doctor of Philosophy in Archaeology.
Completing the course in 3626 ATC, Doctor Sa returned to Arbooine to further archaeological discoveries of the Sathir temple. Working from 3626-3630 ATC on her home world, Doctor Sa found located and studied two more missing portions of the temple -- And unearthed a closed-off shaft in the main section of the temple, which led to further discoveries.
After some exposure for her labor and discoveries on Arbooine -- Doctor Sa began working with other Archaeologists around the Galaxy, accompanying and assisting them at sites with various import in regards to the history of many things within the Galaxy -- Assisting as both an excavator and study assistant in many digs.
In the two years that the Empire has been in power, Doctor Sa has found it increasingly difficult to complete her work, with her digging permits and research grants being revoked due to her interest in sites of significance to aliens, Doctor Sa has resorted to 'rogue' archaeology. Doctor Sa, now, working alongside a once-Imperial droid, K3-X9, began their efforts to uncover various pieces of history. Sa was in search of irrefutable proof of the importance of Aliens, and K3 was in search of irrefutable proof of the importance of Droids.
To shelter some of their ill-gotten artifacts, Doctor Sa founded a small cover business by the name of 'Avian Artifact Authentication' on her home world of Arbooine, which acts as both an artifact authentication service for the wealthy looking for a credentialed individual to have their artifacts rated for authenticity, and a place for Doctor Sa to research and distribute artifacts which she finds on her journies.
This business, as well as serving as an artifact authentication service, also serves as a place for Doctor Sa to mark for robberies, where she, and or her companions, will steal artifacts which have been taken from their ancestral homes, and return them to any significant owners -- Such as family members, or governments of systems from where the artifact is from.
Doctor Sa's adventures have brought her to the planet of Norilia -- A place where many Imperials gather and pass through, making it a prime location for Doctor Sa to find some goods, or some contacts.
Motivation
Alien Rights - Doctor Heqe Sa, being an Alien herself, is motivated by the thought that something that she may discover will lead to the furthering of Alien rights. Although the Empire often 'edit' found discoveries to discredit the work and genius of the many prior Alien races of significance, Doctor Sa believes that, there is something out there that will be so enlightening, that even they have to accept that they aren't the superior race -- And treat all as equals, as it is meant to be, and how it has been for countless generations.
Obligations
(3) Criminal - Doctor Heqe Sa often finds herself in... Legal trouble, due to her misadventures, mischief and incredibly frequent trespasses and attempts to smuggle historical artifacts off of various planets. Doctor Sa has an extensive record of petty crimes in various systems.
(2) Bounty - Doctor Heqe Sa has minor warrants in many systems for criminal trespass and escape.
Description
Doctor Heqe Sa stands at a formidable 6'5" from tip to talon. Doctor Sa's eyes are large, and black. Her face adorned with a beak, serving as both a nose and a mouth, of a yellow colouration, which gradients to a deep grey at its tip. Her body is lean, though her form thickened out by a dense coat of feathers. Doctor Sa grows to unique coats when preening -- In warmer, more humid planets like her home, Doctor Sa's feathers bare a crimson hue, with accents of a sharp cobalt to sharpen her frame. In environments that are either cooler, or dryer, energy in maintaining the sharper colouration of their sheen is instead spent on survival resources, feathers growing in whites, and greys. Their form is modest, that feather coating -- Much like a Wookiee's form, being worn by most of their species in place of attire. Despite this, due to the recent rise in Xenophobia with the coming of the Empire, Doctor Sa finds themselves wearing coats and robes to hide their dense feather coat on travels.
