A KR-77 Heavy Recovery Droid, created by Kvalsund Astromechanica on Troithe. A prototype upgrade of the KR-76, the KR-77 was designed to operate without the direct organic supervision its intellectually limited predecessors require. The -77 model never saw mass production due to a tendency to wander off in search of more interesting work.

Kvalsund used the same chassis as the more common -76 model, which can sometimes be found employed in scrapyards, contracted by insurance agencies, on starship damage control teams, or suborned by pirates who wish to squeeze every penny from their captured booty.

Two small holo-screens in its head project eye-like pictures that change to communicate emotion in a manner recognizable to humans. Behind the holo-screens are a suite of lenses that perform the droid's actual optical and other sensing functions.

Fully understands Basic but has limited ability to speak it. Only single words or short phrases.
