2B-R-N2B, or "Toobie" was a surplus BX-series Commando droid, found in an derelict freighter by an eccentric scrapper/con-artist. Toobie was freshly built, never activated during the Clone Wars and was missing his primary protocol chip. The scrapper reprogrammed him from scratch and imparted some of his own... flamboyant personality into Toobie. The scrapper taught Toobie some basic combat skills, street smarts, and most importantly how to "embellish" to seal a deal.

Unfortunately for Toobie, his master's colored past eventually caught up with him and was arrested by local officials on a swindling charge. Toobie narrowly escaped, and decided to strike out on his own as a bounty hunter.
