governments and politics. He might, in fact, oppose central authoritarianism in all forms, yet see the Alliance as a "lesser evil he can deal with after the Empire is brought down.
Family: The Player Character's family believes in the cause of the Alliance. Many of them may have signed on to serve in one way or another. Some (or all) of them could have died in that service. Regardless of his personal feelings, the PC fights for the Rebellion due to his family's involvement.
