Background
On the farm moon of Concord. A family was preparing for the day of hard labor. The father turned the engine on the harvester, taking it out to the field to reap that years yield. The mother and two of the kids were washing clothes, leaving the oldest to tend to the animals out back. About mid-day when the work for the mom and the two little ones had finished and they were inside making lunch; there came the sound of a blaster shot from outside. The mother told the two little ones to hide, as she went outside. There was a scream of pain, followed by another blaster shot. The two were huddled together in the closet under the clothes. A voice came from the door of the room, “Hey come out, it’s safe.”
They didn’t recognize the voice. “The people who killed your parents are gone, we chased them away.”
The kids did not move. The younger of the two started to cry at hearing that their parents were dead. The older one tried to comfort the younger. When the door of the closet opened and a hand was reaching out towards them. “Please come with me, I will protect you.” Zir drew back while covering his sister, “Who are you?”
A smile grew on the young man's face, “Vizsla”
Years had passed since they lost their parents and there Brother disappeared. Zir and Feyna were now part of Deathwatch fighting their hated rivals; the so-called Mandalorians in a horrible civil war. Feyna was deadly with a vibroblade, silence and stealth were her allies. Zir was a competent pilot and an excellent shot. Many of the battles they fought in were against other soldiers. However, the targets became more increasingly civilian. This gave Zir a sick feeling in the pit of his stomach. Like some how this was familiar.
There was a camp on a moon in the system, where a group was looking for a sacred temple. The Deathwatch Commander wanted them to attack the camp. He thought it might be just to scare them away, however it didn't turn out that way. Most were killed were they stood.
Another fight on Concord made Zir decide where his life was going to head. The sight of his commander bringing two young children out of a house after a raid. Once the children were gone Zir asked his Commander “What are we going to do with the kids?”
“We are going to train them to fight our enemy.”
Zir understood that he was tricked into fighting a war that he did not truly understand. Later, he tried talking about it with his little sister Feyna, but she wasn't having any of it.
“You sound like those weak people we fight. If you want to leave, fine get out of here I won't stop you, but I'm not".
After that difficult conversation Zir stole a troop carrier and escaped into the night under a lie. That was the last time the siblings saw each other on peaceful terms.
Another five years went by, Zir worked as a hired mercenary from time to time, from cantina to cantina. Mostly jobs he took were one man jobs. He became disinterested working with people who had no tactical sence. One job he had put him in the cross hairs of the famous bounty hunter Jango Fett. After that long fight and holding his own, Fett proposed an opportunity for Zir.
From there Fett took him to kamino, where Zir trained clones to be Republic Clone Commandos.
