Background

Kallen grew up in a rather... dysfunctional family. Her father was an Imperial nobleman, her birth mother a commoner in his staff. The woman her father was married to was another noble, but she was a total stuck-up bitch, and she wondered how her father put up with her. The only one who she really got along with was her older brother Naoto.

When she was growing up, Kallen had a love of flight simulators, piloting simulated starfighters in battles from the Clone Wars, and proving to be quite the hot hand on the stick.

She didn't want to join the Navy, though. She saw how her step-mother belittled and beat her birth mother, and she just couldn't stand it, often going on walks just to get away. But there she saw more injustices, situations very similar to the one between her mothers going on all over the place.

She began to realize that the Empire encouraged things like this, and made a vow with her brother to put an end to the Empire and the system of bigotry and hatred it put forth. Of course, at this point Naoto revealed to her that he'd been fighting for a year or so now, having founded a resistance cell with several of his friends with similar opinions.

Kallen left a note for her birth mother, explaining that she couldn't live in a house where her mother constantly suffered with no ability to fight back, and left her house for good. She moved into the hideout for Naoto's cell, and quickly became the pilot of the only starfighter the group had - an old Z-95 Headhunter that they had at least kept in a decent state of repair. In her hands, though, the thing became deadly even to basic TIE Fighters.

For two years, Kallen helped her cell in several strikes against local targets, dealing a decent blow to the Empire. During this time, the mysterious strategist Zero and his bodyguard showed up to help them out, and things were looking up for the group... before they learned that the Imperials had discovered their hideout and were moving to wipe them out

Kallen took to the skies in her Z-95, hoping to buy her friends time to escape, but not only were there hundreds of Stormtroopers on the ground, but there were hordes of TIEs in the air - including a TIE Interceptor piloted by an Imperial Inquisitor. Kallen was forced to tangle with the TIEs while the rest of the cell, including her brother, fought off the Stormtroopers while trying to get to a captured DX-9 Stormtrooper Transport they used to ferry themselves around.

In the skies, Kallen was holding her own against the TIEs, though the Inquisitor gave her a bit of trouble. However, she managed to evade him long enough for the transport to take off... though her brother had taken a few blaster bolts during the escape, and was in critical condition. The Inquisitor abandoned his assault on Kallen, attempting to take down the transport, but Kallen wouldn't let that happen, and actually managed to shoot the Inquisitor's TIE Interceptor down. At this point, the transport had gotten clear, so she flew into space with it. The Headhunter did not have a hyperdrive, so she abandoned it and was picked up by the transport before the transport made it to Hyperspace.

However, the injuries Naoto had sustained were too severe for the group's surviving medic to treat, and he died as they made their way through hyperspace. Kallen remained by Naoto's side for his last moments, and heard his final words: "Be strong, Kallen... live... and change... the galaxy..."

After they reached safety, Naoto was given as elaborate a funeral as they could, though it wasn't much, even if Zero praised the man's tenacity and talent as a fighter. Kallen, feeling more alone than ever, discarded her family name, taking up the last name of Solo. The survivors of the group split up then, Kallen following Zero, and earning his trust such that he revealed his true identity of Lelouch Windstream to her.

Now, one year later, Kallen is a true hotshot pilot, and one of Lelouch's trusted companions, though her feelings for him have been running deeper than friendship of late. Joining the Rebel Alliance alongside him, Kallen is assigned with him to the Lantilles sector to try and help turn the campaign there around, even as she tries to come to grips with, and find a way to confess, her new feelings for Lelouch...

Motivation

Belief/Justice - Kallen strongly believes in justice, and thinks that the current stratified class system of the Empire, allowing those with power to abuse and enslave those 'below' them, is wrong. Her greatest desire is to free all people enslaved by the Empire.

Quest/Vengeance - Naoto died fighting the Empire. When he died, Kallen's campaign against the Empire became personal, as now she seeks to avenge him.

Ambition/Love - Kallen has come to fall deeply in love with Lelouch, who she has fought alongside since leaving her old cell. She fights to protect him, even as she works through just what her feelings may mean for their relationship...

Duties

Space Superiority (5 Points) - Kallen's greatest skill has always been the elimination of enemy starfighters. In battle, she will leave the capital ships to the Y-Wings and other assault starfighters, and focus on clearing away the enemy's fighter support to both protect her carrier and to give the assault ships a path.

Air Superiority (5 Points) - One of Kallen's main tasks in any planet-side mission is to ensure that the skies are clear of opposition. TIE Fighters, Airspeeders... if it flies and is threatening a ground team, Kallen is the one assigned to take it out.

Description

Kallen is a human female, age 18, with fair skin. She stands at 5'7" and has a slender, yet busty, build, along with red hair and blue eyes. Furthermore, most of what she wears has red in it somewhere, including a fully-red flight suit.

Other Notes

Created for the Sector Force Lantilles setting.

Kallen shares a connection to Lelouch ' Zero' Windstream, a PC in my pool. Lelouch is a black-haired, violet-eyed strategist who was former nobility, but lost his parents to the Empire. She is good friends with him, and loyal, but her feelings for him have turned to love as of late.

Members of Kallen's former cell might show up at points. It was around 24 members strong before their hideout was raided, not counting Zero and Jeremiah, but only 8 of them survived and eluded capture, including Kallen. The rest are either dead or missing, and those missing are either dead themselves or captured.
