Background

Pilots who have had to train themselves through trial and error, on ships that barely function, can often fly anything, even vessels that have no business in the sky.
Being able to keep a rust-bucket aloft has its advantages!

Motivation

Victory
This Smuggler enjoys triumphing over others. He challenges himself to fly faster than anyone else, to deceive them, to shoot more accurately than they can, or to steal things out from under their nasal appendages. His need to be better than everyone else incites him to be the best Smuggler he can be, but since he might take on particularly dangerous jobs to prove that he can smuggle better than anyone else, this Motivation could also be his undoing.

Childhood Friend
Many Alliance troopers took up arms because of an Imperial invasion, fighting alongside lifelong friends and neighbors. This Soldier fights to watch a particular friend's back, to prevent someone back home from suffering Imperial rule, or to avenge someone who perished at the hands of the Empire.

Friendship
Trust in the Force, and it often provides its servants with all they might need. The solution to any puzzle is often a matter of obtaining the right perspective or finding the right person for the job. Consulars looking to grow their circle of friends know that being kind and generous to others is its own reward and often brings kindness and generosity back tenfold. Though Jedi were warned against attachment, most had many friends from their travels.

Obligations

Bad Reputation: 30
Whether deserved or not, some Smugglers find themselves with a reputation for being untrustworthy or difficult to deal with. This can make finding jobs a struggle. Since the best way to reduce this Obligation is to successfully complete contracts, proving himself reliable again, the Smuggler might find himself having to take the least desirable jobs for a while. Once he's repaired his reputation, he will be able to pick and choose again.

Duty
Combat Victory: 30
The PC wants to prove that the Rebellion's armed forces can defeat the Empire in head-to-head battles, and frequently pushes to launch devastating raids, ambushes, and strikes. This PC believes the only path to victory is through combat, and that the rebels are more than a match for the Empire any time, on any battlefield, under any conditions.

Morality: 63
Emotional Strength
Cleverness: By observing beings and situations in an unorthodox manner, the character gains a new and unique understanding. This allows the character to approach problems from an unexpected angle and produce original solutions.
Emotional Weakness
Sophism: The character's unique perspective can lead to the assumption that those who do not share the character's insight are somehow less enlightened and should be reminded of that.
