After decades of being considered one of the top medical units, B42-1B malfunctioned. After several botched surgery's involving the removal of patients limbs, (which some how disappeared) B42-1Bs memory units were cleared. But oddly the particular personality matrix and medical knowledge could not be flushed out. B42-1B was eventually decommissioned and dumped into the outer rim.
This situation contributed to the system defect that created a 20 magnitude level addition to limb collection as spare parts for B42-1Bs organic patients/companions.

Serving on several small vessels as an emergency medical unit and passed around from crew to crew when "mishaps" occurred B42-1B was finally left shut down in an old freighter thought abandoned.
The units unique suborn personalty matrix that will just not clear is highly intelligent and resilient, B42-1B still has a high Medical skill level and capable of deception and cunning when called for. ("No this will not hurt at all, trust me I'm a highly skilled medical unit")
These traits combined with entry level leadership skills assist in B42-1B's medical protocols.


"Armed" with Various re-purposed surgical tools, B42-1B is not only capable of patching up a crew, but can defend its self when called for.
Built in Shock Gloves act as emergency resuscitation devices, or provide offensive stun capabilities.
A retractable surgical Vibroblade is useful for cutting through bone, tissue or armor.
And a blaster pistol picked up during one of B42-1Bs active periods is good for... well blasting stuff. (Or cauterizing that hole that it just happens to makes in the target)
B42-1B is armored with additional plating and comes with its own Physician kit including Stims and Nerotoxins (which might occasionally get mixed up)
