Born and raised on Shili, a sparsely populated world that is native to the Togruta, Kaynen was swiftly identified by none other than Shaak Ti as a force sensitive individual. She was briefly abducted by Slavers before Shaak found her, traumatising her and forming the basis of her anger issues, cruelty and standoffish nature.
Taken to the Temple, and growing as a youngling, she was recognised, and chastised, for her aggression and volatility, which in her teen years she began to tame.
Padawan to Plo Koon, she arrested her anger and forged a strong sense of independence, both from the Jedi Order, the Codes they hold and from general rules, instead Kaynen internalised the moral beliefs of her Master, forging them as her guiding light in a galaxy of turmoil.
Not to say that she discards the teachings of the Order, but Kaynen is very much guided by her own morals and justifications.
Kaynen is currently on sanction, alleged to have exploited her anger to best a Zygeerian slaver in melee battle, killing him. Her punishment is to spend 6 months in reflection, and her controversial actions have riven a part of the Jedi Order, with two minor factions forming for, or against her conduct.
