Background
The Mandalorian Death Watch, once the ruling power on Mandalore, have since been dispersed throughout the galaxy. What few of them remain form small, insular cell-like communities and take on any job that pays, regardless of how unscrupulous. Hyde of Clan Lok was born into these circumstances several years after the end of the clone wars.
Growing up among strict, traditional Mandalorian warriors gave him early experience with battle and death. Seeing a client he'd once fought beside shot down ruthlessly by his family in another mission gave him a weary view of mercenary work at a precocious age.
In time he railed against the idea that to be a warrior, one must discard compassion. And since he was Mandalorian, he railed against this violently. Earning a vicious scar battling his parents and siblings in his attempt to escape, he hitched a ride aboard a presently departing freighter.
Once he'd paid off his debts to captain and crew for the damages by serving as a hired guard, he declined an offer for proper employment and set out in search of the Rebel Alliance, those brave few willing to battle the greatest military force in the galaxy.
