B1-LL Was manufactured as a B1 battle droid on geonosis, to serve as an engineer in the clone wars. He served his purpose as dictated by his coding to the best of his ability. During a clone attack, B1-LL was shot and his main power supply disconnected from the wiring of the rest of his body. his body was picked up by a scavenger and brought to a scrapyard, where he lay forgotten for decades, his parts slowly degrading. Through little more than a fluke, a planetary tremor manged to shift B1-LL's wires in such a way as to momentarily supply him with power. From there, B1-LL manged to reconnect his power supply. Dragging himself through the scrapyard, he started replacing his broken parts, self repairing himself until he was fully functioning. He continued to scour the scrapheap, gradually improving and repairing himself. Eventually he was discovered and picked up by a member of a droid-run cartel. After being outfitted and equipped by the cartel, including the installation of an escape circut , he now owes a rather large sum of credits.

Since the Clone Wars B1-LL has continued his role as an engineer. He seeks to tinker and improve with everything around him, including himself.

He bears the standard yellow paint of engineer droids, however the paint is chipped from years of damage
His parts and worn down and blunted, it's obvious that they have been repaired after being nearly destroyed.
His body is covered in metal plates of varying shape, size, and color.
His right arm and leg have been replaced with the limbs of a damaged ig-88 assassin droid.
Different tools can be seen haphazardly strewn about him, some stuffed into the utility belt in his waist, some bolted loosely to his chassis
