Background
Born to extravagantly wealthy parents, Skykall Arani was born to Bogan and Lorell Arani 33 BBY on Duro. Skykall grew up eating exquisite cuisine, wearing fancy clothes and the adoration of her parents and family. Her aptitude in the force however landed her a one way ticket to the Jedi training academy. Her family believing this was a great opportunity for the Arani name, gave Jedi Master Eeth Koth their daughter at the age of 6.
Eeth Koth took the young Skykall to Coruscant where she met fellow initiate Doto Chamra. Doto was excelled in piloting and leadership, and frequently tried to take lead in training exercises. Skykall, not liking the bossy know-it-all initiate, opposed him at every turn that she could. Over the years, a rivalry formed. While this rivalry has mostly subsided due to both of them becoming more mature, there is still a lot of history between the two.
She was granted the title of Padawan at the age of 11, and served under and Jedi Knight Vuela Venar, a Togruta female conducting research in the outer rim. Later on, she was reassigned to Jedi Master Quo Moot & Jedi General Kotran Arani on the jungle Planet Kroosis. Guiding the 17th "Dagger" Shock Battalion, they were able reinforce several legions on nearby planets and decisively crush a CIS forward operating base on Kroosis. Despite the Republics substantial victories against the CIS, upon issue of order 66, the Jedi's happiness had turned into dread. Master Quo Moot disappeared without a trace, leaving General Kotran Arani to defend their Padawans. His final guidance for the Padawans was to be, "Be nimble, be smart" while holding off advancing clone troopers. Heeding their masters advice, the group departed from Kroosis, in search of a new life...

She is always eager to learn from her close cousin, Kotran Arani, who is much older and more experienced. Despite having her cousin leave them in the dust with little to no goodbyes, she is keen that he will return.
