Name Rank Book & Page Description
Inorganic 1 Since droids are inorganic, they do not gain the benefits of recovering with a bacta tank, stimpack, or Medicine skill checks. Droids do recover naturally by resting, as their systems attempt self-repairs. Otherwise, droids need to be tended to with a Mechanics check, using the same difficulties and results of Medicine checks for organic beings. Emergency repair patches can be used to repair damage just like stimpacks are used on organic beings. See page 220 for more on droid repairs and healing. Due to their resilient metallic construction, droids start the game with one rank in the Enduring talent.
Mechanical Being 1 Droids cannot become Force sensitive, nor acquire a Force Rating by any means. Droids cannot use Force powers, and also cannot be affected by mind-altering Force powers.
Droid Species 1 Droids do not need to eat, sleep, or breathe, and are unaffected by toxins or poisons. Droids have a cybernetic implant cap of 6 instead of their Brawn rating. In addition, after selecting their career, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in six of the eight career skills (instead of the usual four). After selecting their first specialization, a Droid Player Character may train one rank in three of the four specialization skills (instead of the usual two).
Machine Mender 2 Droid Tech (2) When making a mechanics check to help a character heal wounds, the target heals one additional wound per rank of machine mender.
Deft Maker 2 Droid Tech (2) Remove â–  per rank of deft maker from checks to repair, modify, construct, or program droids. Reduce the material cost to craft droids by 50%.
Grit 3 Droid Tech (3) Gain +1 strain threshold.
Speaks Binary 3 Droid Tech (3) When directing NPC droids, may grant them boost per rank of Speaks Binary on checks.
Redundant Systems 1 Droid Tech (1) Once per session, may take Redundant Systems action, make an easy mechanics check to harvest components from a functioning device to repair a broken one without breaking the first device.
Eye for Detail 1 Droid Tech (1) After making a mechanics or computers check, may suffer strain up to ranks in Eye for Detail to convert that many success into advantage
Improved Speaks Binary 1 Droid Tech (1) When directing NPC droids, those droids grant additional boosts in addition to other benefits.
Supreme Speaks Binary 1 Droid Tech (1) Once per encounter may perform Speaks Binary maneuver. A number of NPC droids up to the ranks in Speaks Binary may use the characters ranks for 1 skill of the players choice.
Reroute Processors 1 Droid Tech (1) Once per encounter, may take Reroute Processors action, make an average computers check to reduce one of a droid's characteristics and increase another of it's characteristics by 1.
Deditcation 1 Droid Tech (1) Gain +1 to a single charac­teristic (Willpower). This cannot bring a characteristic above 6. (+1 to willpower)

Background

From the beginning R5-T7 was dealt a bad card. The R5 units were made as a poor man's R2 unit and it showed in frequent break downs and bad tempers. T7 was no exception. Over the years what issues he had in his hardware had been ironed out by his various owners but a lack of memory wipes left his bad temper in tact, albeit kept in check by the restraining bolt that had been in place so long it began to rust. Upon being bought by his last crew, R5-T7 was repurposed to maintain the other more stable droids on the ship to which T7 came to enjoy (wether this enjoyment was from a desire to help droid-kind or feel some sort of power over another is unclear).

Given the droid's age this would have likely been the last ship he'd work on before being scrapped but by forces of the universe of shear luck that proved to not be the case. After getting in the way of one of the crew while docked on Oogway, the droid was shoved over, crushing the already fragile restraining bolt. Feeling his newfound freedom, R5-T7 went back to work. The droid bided his time until the crew got ready to leave at which point he'd make his escape...

Motivation

Friendship: R5-T7 has been a thing his entire but with his new freedom he wishes to be more than that to others.

Obligations

Bad Reputation(5): R5 units are notorious for being poorly constructed droids.
