Originally an astrogation droid aboard a capital ship, circumstances led to R0-O1 being reprogrammed as a courier droid. Some old astrogation programming still remains, making R0-O1 useful on and off a vessel.

On the outside, R0-O1 is a fairly standard Astromech with a pretty common story; Worked on a ship, got shuffled around, reprogrammed, and now does some other supporting task for whoever "commands" him.

The reality of the situation is slightly more complex. After the reprogramming, a few error codes began to develop and R0-O1 developed kleptomania but also the need for recognition. After successful stealing something, he will reveal his stolen goods to those who might approve of the theft or find it amusing.

R0-O1's true motivation for joining any group is the opportunity for new destinations which provides new hoods to acquire.

As a courier droid and former Astrogation droid, R0-O1's duties on and off the ship have always been to support his crew in any manner that helps them get from point A to point B.
