Background

Cha'Rizor is a human Jedi born on the barbaric world of Valgauth. His clan was wiped out by another clan during a bloody war, and was rescued by a near-human Jedi named Kasmina Choruth. She recognized the Force in him and decided it would be better to train him as a Jedi than to risk him being raised as a Force-wielding berserker that would plague the sector. Seeking permission from the Jedi Council was relatively easy when they realized the importance of her intent. Kasmina was the local protector of her home system due to the proximity to Valgauth. The only reason she found Cha in the first place was that she was investigating the outcome of the war to see who, if any, would be new threats to her people.

Cha was raised and trained in the Jedi Temple as any other youngling, but his heritage was hard to deny in that he was inclined to learn the way of the lightsaber more than any other of the Jedi teachings. Kasmina would later come to the temple to check on his progress and was glad to discover that Cha grew up to be a young man that overcame any sense of vengeance about what happened to his clan and was happy to learn a peaceful way to live. For this reason he was accepted as her padawan and her ultimate goal was to hopefully create a bridge for change between the two cultures and establish a more peaceful future for the sector.

Late into his time as a padawan, Cha found himself on Lew'elan with Master Choruth and they were assisting local fishermen with a mechanical issue on their vehicle when a razorback whale suddenly got caught up in some of their netting and panicked. The whale submerged and headed toward the safety of the deep ocean, but one of the fishermen got caught in the net and was quickly scooped off of the deck and into the water. At the pivotal moment, Cha dove in and used the Force to catch up and barely grab onto the netting. Cha was able to free the fisherman by cutting the net with his lightsaber and then the two men swam upwards to safety. The locals celebrated the rescue and the tale of the event grew larger each time it was told and eventually became a tall-tale about how Cha defeated a razorback whale with his lightsaber in a single swing as it leaped over the ship. They nicknamed him Rizor and Cha accepted the name and now goes by Cha'Rizor.

Kasmina took note of his deed and decided he was ready for the trials of knighthood and Cha was able to complete them with ease. After being a full-fledged Jedi, Cha'Rizor decided to keep practicing his skills with a lightsaber and became a junior instructor at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. He occasionally answers his master's call to assist her in their home sector, but prefers to guide future Jedi and wants to avoid being tempted into a berserker lifestyle that was his previous destiny.

Now that the Clone Wars have started, however, he was asked by the Jedi Council to accept the responsibility to be a combat pilot. He accepted the task, even though none of his training or skills would have led him to take that path on his own. A year into the war and he is now a competent pilot and learned to focus on the skills of the agile rather than those of the athlete.

Motivation

Galactic Peace: Cha'Rizor wants to bring an end to the Clone Wars and bring back stability to the galaxy. More importantly he wants to also use the war as an excuse to finally bring some semblance of peace to his home sector and show the people of Valgauth that there is more than one way to live their lives.

Morality

Discipline: Cha'Rizor dedicates himself to the study of lightsaber combat in order to focus himself and not succumb to barbaric tendencies of his people. By living this way he finds it easy to stay calm and composed during other situations in his life.

Obstinance: In order to not give into the Dark Side, Cha'Rizor is rather rigid and unwilling to entertain ideas for situations that have proven solutions. He thinks by doing so he will avoid the emotions of fear and uncertainty that could lead him astray.
