Name Rank Book & Page Description
Microvision 0 Species trait The compound eyes of a Verpine are capable of seeing tiny, even microscopic, details. While closely examining an object, Verpine characters add a boost die to their Perception checks.
Radio-wave Communication 0 Species trait Verpine can produce and hear radio waves, which allows them to silently communicate with other Verpine and specially tuned comlinks within a 100-kilometer range.
Toughened 2 various The character increases their wound threshold by two per rank of Toughened.
Armor Master 0 Death Watch Warrior While wearing armor, the character increases their total soak value by one.
Side Step 1 Death Watch Warrior Once per round on the character's turn, the character may perform a Side Step maneuver to try to avoid incoming ranged attacks. They then suffer a number of strain no greater than [their] ranks in Side Step. Until the start of the character's next turn, upgrade the difficulty of all ranged combat checks targeting the character a number of times equal to the strain suffered by the target.
Design Flaw 1 Droid Specialist When making a combat check with a personal scale weapon against a droid, the character adds advantage results equal to their ranks of Design Flaw.
Hidden Storage 1 Droid Specialist Any large equipment, vehicle, or droid that the character owns has one or more hidden compartments for smuggling appropriately sized gear. The number of compartments is up to the player, but cannot be enough to hold a total encumbrance value of items more than the character's ranks in Hidden Storage.
Gearhead 1 Droid Specialist The character removes a setback die per rank of Gearhead from their Mechanics checks. In addition, the credit cost to add mods to attachments decreases by 50% (this does not increase with additional ranks of Gearhead).
Machine Mender 1 Droid Specialist When this character makes a Mechanics check to help a character heal wounds, the target heals one additional wound per rank of Machine Mender.
Combat Programming 0 Droid Specialist Once per encounter when working on a droid, the character may make a Hard difficulty Computers check. If successful, for the remainder of the encounter the droid gains two different combat skills at rank 1, or 1 additional rank in two different existing combat skills (to a maximum of 5), as chosen by the character. If the character is a droid, it may perform this action on itself.

Background

One of the few non-human Mandalorians in existence, the Verpine Ged'ji has led an interesting, and dangerous life.

Havinh a love of technology isn't unusual for his people, but Ged'ji did have a passion for droids in particular. He was allowed to dabble in his off-time with droid experiments, but his primary task was designated to assemble and maintain the famous Verpine weaponry that was used by sentients across the Galaxy. His big break was promotion from assembly-line worker to a field representative. The new assignment was to maintain and showcase the weapons to clientele as necessary.

The final assignment for Ged'ji as a field representative was to support a group of Mandalorians fighting in the Galactic Civil War. Ged'ji would join them in combat to provide field repairs of the Verpine rifles and blasters, so he was given weapon training so he could hold his own in a fight and not be a burden on the customers. Eventually he was also allowed to test out droid use in the battles, and was eager to be there so he could repair them and update programming to test results. Over the course of many battles, Ged'ji would feel a comradery with the Mandalorians. Due to a language barrier, he didn't quite understand that his love of technology was different from their love of combat as a way of life, but the end result was still the same that he was adopted into their community as something of a mascot.

During the war, the group of Mandalorians started to fracture due to losses and differing views of who they should support during the war. The Empire cracked down on rogue factions which led to the scattering of who remained. Those lucky enough to survive didn't have time to coordinate and fled as best they could, hoping to regroup later on. Ged'ji took mechanist and mercenary work until finally he found a stable hideout on Rishi. The Rishi Maze wasn't hardly worth the trouble of patrolling, so Imperial interactions would be few and easy to avoid, though the trade-off is that he would have to constantly be aware of the pirates and scum found on the remote planet.

After many years, there is finally a call for Mandalorians to regroup on their home world. Ged'ji is intrigued, but cautious about what is to come next.
