Background

Until the time of the Clone Wars, there have been no known Force Sensitive Geonosians. There are musings as to why some races have a higher population of Force Sensitives than others. Why is it that some beasts and occasionally non-sentient life can influence the Force, yet some species on the galactic stage have never had such a champion?

Maybe it was the stress of the Clone Wars, the presence of powerful Jedi and Sith, or destiny itself that would cause the birth of the first Geonosian strong in the Force; Klilaka, a female who would become a Queen.

Initially discovered prior to the execution of Order 66, Klilaka was quickly discovered by Jedi Master Larkan Kua, a particularly cunning and cautious Melitto. Master Kua, being an insect like creature himself and familiar with Hive Minds, was tasked with overlooking the Geonosians, ensuring the Separatists don't reclaim a foothold, and to study the Geonosian physiology after the Republic encountered some strange brain worms (Clone Wars plotline).

When Klilaka was born, Master Kua was fortuitously within the sector of the planet and felt a small ripple through the force. Strange that such a being would exist, and even stranger that he would feel it. Believing that he was led by the Force, he traveled to the newborn Queen and, using a combination of strong arguments and the force, convinced the mother to leave Klilaka in Master Kua's care, along with a contingent of Geonosian soldiers for protection.

Some of the Jedi had suspected the betrayal of the Clones, and Master Kua was one of those who began establishing his independence from them. He kept the existence of the Force Sensitive Queen secret from the Republic and even from most of the Jedi Order, only telling his most trusted allies. When Order 66 came, he and his Geonosian allies were prepared and successfully fended off the clones before going into hiding.

Years passed, and Klilaka began producing eggs of her own. Much to Master Kua's astonishment, a high percentage of these Geonosians were also Force Sensitive.

Immediately he began taking precautions to bring up these Geonosians with the Jedi Code and teaching them about the dangers of the Sith, the very ones who he believes run the Empire.

He taught them the importance of hiding, and the dangers of the dark side. Fear nagged at him as days passed, however - the Queen was constantly producing children, how long could they be kept secret? Would they be able to defend against the Empire? Would the rest of Geonosis rally to them, or hate them like the Jedi? Would they need to evacuate and move to a different planet, abandoning all they had built?

And what had been built was indeed great. In a ravine far from civilized Geonosian society was a hive. Thousands of Force Sensitives fluttered about, each one part of a hivemind so much more colorful than the rest of the planet had ever experienced. Thoughts, emotions, physical sensations constantly rippled through the Force. Thoughts of serenity were encouraged, while elements of the dark side were abolished. These Geonosians still had warrior mindsets their kind was known for, but Larkan Kua was truly masterful in his guidance.

Eventually, Tiktakos was born. He was not a particularly unique Geonosian, at least on the surface, but he had an incredibly powerful connection the force and the gift of empathy. He could connect to other living creatures in ways similar to that of the connection his hivemind, a sort of extension of the force to them. This made him incredibly connected to the local flaura and fauna of Geonosis, what little there was, and also a prime target for direct apprenticeship by Master Kua.

For the next 10 years Master Kua trained Tiktakos in the ways of the Jedi, envisioning that someday he might serve as a champion for his people. From birth to Geonosian adulthood, Tiktakos was by Master Kua's side. The hive expanded, and had limited dealings with other Geonosians. The Empire left the planet relatively untouched, making little use of the droid factories around the planet. For a while, it seemed that they were safe, that life was good.

Tiktakos was trained in philosophy more than anything else. He had a powerful connection to the force, but had trouble using it in a refined way. If only Master Windu or Master Yoda were able to teach him, he always thought, then Tiktakos would be the Knight he could be. He'd reassure himself that the Force willed it, and continue on.

One day, during a trade interaction with another hive, the Geonosians as a whole became alerted to the Force Sensitivity of at least some in the Hive (though few ever learned of the extent) and inevitably to the presence of the Jedi Master hidden away. This process was filled with conflict - some wanted to protect, others wanted to turn them in to the Empire, and all had valid arguments. Immediately some began churning out droids for combat, while others scouted to confirm and then alerted the Empire.

Klilaka's Hive scrambled, accepting secret help from other Geonosians, trying to find ships suitable for escape from the Empire, and preparing themselves for whatever might come. Master Kua organized droids, Geonosian warriors, and transports for escape. Klilaka demanded the honor of staying with her hive, refusing transport much to the dismay of the Jedi Master.

Within days, the first of the Empire arrived. A small scouting party from the sector was sent to confirm the presence of Force Sensitives. They were no match for Master Kua's leadership, but sent the confirmation they needed for what remained of the Inquisitors to come.

The Empire had been struggling with rebel attacks across the Galaxy, and some of the most powerful assets (like the Grand Inquisitor and Darth Vader) had already been killed or were preoccupied. Even still, what came was a group of red blades that were tasked with capturing or destroying Force Sensitives. They brought the might of an entire group of Star Destroyers to Geonosis and demanded that the other hives declare their allegiance. Chaos ensued, and conflict poured out across the planet for a few hours before the final decision was made; Klilaka would be left to fend for herself.

The Empire descended on the hive, opening up with an Orbital Bombardment after Geonosis let down their defenses. Explosions destroyed the structures and much of the populace. Then the troop transports set down, and the Empire was able to demonstrate why Geonosis lost to the Republic during the Clone Wars in the first place. Pure, pointed, and powerful, the Imperial troops slaughtered everything in their way.

Klilaka's hive used the Force to put up a valiant fight, but in the end were no match. As they descended on the planet, Klilaka gave birth to an egg, an egg of another queen.

How fortuitous, Kua thought, as he quickly orchestrated for the egg to be taken with a few Geonosian escorts to the evacuation ships. Kua grabbed Tiktakos, handed him his robe, and ordered him to carry on what he has been taught to this new hive. Master Kua would stay and face down the dark siders, hopefully distracting them enough for Tiktakos to escape.

And he did just that. The Inquisitors came and fought against Master Kua. Tiktakos did not see the battle, but through the connection to his hive was able to experience the joy of watching Kua have victory over one, and the sheer dread of seeing him fall to another. The fear that comes with the Empire marching into the throne room, and the emptiness of feeling the connection to his hive be severed at the death of Klilaka.

The ships began to flee, but there was no possibility of the Empire not seeing this. They sent squadrons of TIE fighters to hunt down the fleeing ships, destroying all but one.

Tiktakos's ship escaped, but with critical damage. Many inside had already died during the failed evasive maneuvering, bludgeoned to death by broken ship components. Unsure if the unstable ship could go far, the wounded pilot changed course and ended up at Cryanokin, hurdling down to the planet's surface.

After the crash, few Geonosians survived, none of which were combatants. Tiktakos, realizing the responsibility of securing resources falls on him, set out to do whatever he can to ensure his people's survival.

Motivation

Tiktakos wants to find a new family to be a part of, to fulfill his genetic calling to assist and build a hive.

Morality
