Background

Once upon a time in a galaxy around here somewhere….

A Kiffer Smuggler named Braedon and a Fallen Scoundrel named Lyntock were hired join an up and coming smuggling crew and their first job was to do a very secret very dangerous con job against the Huttes. The group was successful and Braedon and Lyntock became permanent crew members and fell in love and soon had a child.

As per Kiffer tradition, their daughter Braetock was given the clan tattoo and was raised on the ship by the entire crew. Braetock was often left in the care of the Given Mechanic Bob who always stayed behind with the ship and the continual repairs it and their other items needed, such as guns and computers and the two light transport vehicles in the docking bay.

Her father taught her basic fighting skills and to be brave to try new things, her mother taught her the art of patience and observation and Bob tutored her in everything mechanical and mathematical related.

At the young age of 12 Braetock could perform minor navigational equations and basic mechanics on the ship they all lived on together. She wore crew hand me downs all her life and became fascinated with anything mechanical that could be taken apart and put back together but better. Bob encouraged her to be experimental, mostly to keep her mind and her fingers occupied and somewhat out of his way. Braetock knew their ship inside out top to bottom and could hide anywhere when needed.

On one particular job venture most of the crew did not return as expected and the ship started taking fire. The Crew Chief Tarlif took off without the major portion of the crew and without confirming with Bob that the ship was still space worthy and it was not.

Tarlif died from being electrified at the controls and the ship drifted in space. Brae and Bob worked frantically to do what repairs they could but it was too late. Bob then focused on saving Braetock's life by upgrading and reprogramming the lone escape pod that was big enough for several people but their supplies were limited and he knew they both could not survive.

Weak from lack of air Braetock rested in the escape pod waiting for Bob to join her with the last of the tools and supplies they could fit into the pod and fell asleep, a deep drug induced sleep. When she awoke, she was face to face with strangers, presumably another smuggling crew who took in the escape pod as scrap and were quite surprised to find the sleeping girl surrounded by food and tools. They took her in with the intention of selling her to the first slavers they could find but she proved valuable with her gift of observation and her ability to fix a long standing problem with their navigation system. She continued to prove her worth and eventually jumped from their ship to another, a paid job on her own terms.

Between jobs on whatever space station of planet she was on, Braetock would set up a makeshift repair shop. In one such port she met a man named Krax, a mandalorian who was waiting to see about some repairs when a customer tried to cheat her out of the agreed upon price and rough her up. Krax stepped in and stopped the fight and convinced the customer to pay up. She repaid him with information on a job that needed a mechanic and a few handy with blasters. They worked well together and kept in touch each letting the other know as jobs became available. Eventually he asked her about repairing an older data pad model. While she could not fully repair it to get the data, she was able to clean it up as he wanted to keep it for personal reasons.

Several years now Braetock has worked as mechanic/pilot with Kraxx on several different ships throughout the galaxies, as that is all she knew.

Now she is the chief pilot and mechanic on a Ship that Kraxx acquired for themselves. Sometimes shuttling folks in need of a private ride, sometimes running cargo or bounties and sometimes just for the adventure.

Motivation

Stay out of view with the Gorensla Hutte clan (EoE: Lords of Nal Hutta pg 24) who think Braetock knows where her parent's stashed details of a key experimental weapons and its location from a job they took on with that clan. (Details: Location of an illegal extreme battle droids plant that needs a specific chip to activate the facility found in the outer outer rim). After several years have passed, the bounty on her head faded into the background, all but forgotten.
