Born to a noble family on the planet of Ryloth, Mon'Baboz never lacked for the finer things in life, but such wealth still came at a cost.

His mother, a senator for the galactic senate, was frequently away on business while his father used her connections and business contacts to go from one disastrous investment to the next.

From a young age, Mon'Baboz had an interest in the history of the clone wars and specifically in the history of the separatist cause. He began to read all available literature on the subject and when he had exhausted that, he surreptitiously left the family estate at night to visit old battlefields. While there, Mon was able to acquire an impressive collection of droid parts which he began to restore and extract information from to fuel his research. Over time, his collection and studies gained notoriety in academic circles and he was invited to study at prestigious universities on the planet and was offered a professorship to teach Clone Wars history.

Five years later, his father's bad business decisions had finally caught up with the family's wealth and the estate found itself mired in debt and disgrace. Political enemies of the family began to circle. Fi'Dona, the patriarch of one of the most powerful families on Ryloth, used his influence to bankrupt the Baboz family and have their assets seized. Controlling the debt of the family, he was able to exert his influence over Mon'Baboz mother to enact favorable proposals in the senate and ensure that his interests were always protected while at the same time, ensuring the ruin of the Baboz family continued.

Facing complete financial ruin, Mon'Baboz pooled his research notes together and began a desperate expedition. Rumors of a Separatist treasure on a distant planet of the outer rim had reached his ears and with the wealth of information at his disposal, Mon'baboz thought he had as good a chance as any to find it.

Determined to restore his family's status on Ryloth and emerge as the leading expert of Clone Wars history in the Outer Rim.
