Background

Aphe Marren loves two things; credits, and his mother. The latter is dead, allowing him to focus all his passion and energy on the former. Raised on Coruscant in a "middle class" family, Aphe quickly learned that the only way to beat the system was to live outside it. Despite his parents' best efforts to raise him on the clean and straight, Aphe quickly fell in with the less reputable kids. He learned that his best defense was his wit and silver tongue...and a mean right hook.

As he grew older he made contacts in the seedier sectors of Coruscant and began running jobs for employers, always trying to make a quick credit. He found he had a particular knack for getting things from point A to point B unnoticed. After a few years working for a black market dealer, Fane Reyes, at his pawn shop "Reyes' Emporium and Sundry", Aphe was offered a job that would pay big. "Might even be able to afford to get off this durasteel ball." Reyes had said.

It wasn't until Aphe was staring down the barrels of half a dozen Coruscant Security Member's blasters that he realized what had happened; Reyes had set him up. The rumors of authorities tracking Reyes and preparing a raid had been true after all, and Fane had set up Aphe to take the fall.

After a harrowing chase through the sector to the nearest Spaceport, Aphe was able to sneak aboard a freighter, just barely escaping imprisonment.

Motivation

Reward; Credits - Aphe learned from an early age that credits make the galaxy spin. He's willing to do whatever it takes to amass a fortune, and has decided that smuggling is the most lucrative way (outside of politics) to do so.

Obligations

Criminal (20) - After fleeing Coruscant the Empire has put a fair amount of time in attempting to track down Aphe, hoping to use him as an example for any Black Market vendors who refuse to pay their bribes to the proper officials. Fortunately, he's been able to survive or dodge collection attempts up to this point.
