Background

Elara was raised a Pantoran noble, joining the Jedi Order as a youngling. She was picked to become a padawan under the care of Bunno, one of the most pacifistic knights of the Order. As a padawan, she asked a lot of questions, with a constant need to understand why things were the way they were, why the rules mattered- often resulting in her making judgement calls on whether those rules were worth following or not.

Bunno, a Sullustan, was different from other Jedi Knights. It took Elara months before she ever even knew the colour of his lightsaber (it was green). He was a Consular, and a knight when he took her on as a padawan (he became a master before she earned the rank of knight). He did not like the Clone Wars, and was quite averse to using weapons or violence in general. To him, the weapon was the last resort to a problem. For him, that meant eating blaster fire now and then before resorting to fighting back. He would rather err on the side of caution, as he could take it (and heal it, as he was a force healer).

Bunno, ever the oddity, trained her to inevitably have a lot of those same oddities in herself. While he was given a squad to command during the Clone Wars, he often left them somewhere else in order to scout out a situation first-hand and attempt to talk things over. Clones that served under him had plenty of stories of him wandering off to talk to someone, and not receiving a ping back on the comms. When they would rush to find him, they'd find him being shot at by droids, or something similar.

With Elara's stubbornness and incessant questions about the 'whys' of what they were doing, Bunno was a perfect person to guide her through the Jedi's teachings. He'd like to have a drink sometimes. It showed her the rules could be bent, or broken, so long as one knew what they were doing.

Bunno loved to laugh, and the break from the seriousness, the love of life, was something passed on to Elara as well. He was always sharing a new joke he had learned, and on occasion would play pranks on another knight, or even another master. Elara's ability to argue her way through and out of things was gained from him as well, with him often saddling her with work, and then 'aid' her in reasoning her way out of it, often as an excuse for the two to go and do something more fun together (like getting space noodles at a bar Bunno frequented). He liked to live joyfully, and had at least one friend everywhere they went. He'd encouraged that frame of mind in others. Elara would spend the rest of her life trying to replicate that joyfulness, and inevitably struggle to do so without him.

With the little bit of freedom gained by becoming a Knight, Elara took it and ran with it, feeling less shame about breaking rules she deemed unnecessary. Specifically, she found herself a girlfriend she met while in the Outer Rim, a pilot, medic, mechanic, technician, gun-slinging badass. Hable Arrenda was her jack-of-all-trades. Hable balanced out the cocky, charismatic personality Elara had with her own calm and collected spirit. The two were an ideal match.

The council did find out about her relationship. Initially, Elara denied it. Since the Order was in the middle of a war, handing out punishment for breaking a tenet simply was not deemed worth it. It became even less worthwhile to confront because every time someone would even have a thought about Elara's illicit affair, Elara would tell them in vivid detail just how much she loved breaking such a rule, and exactly how she broke it just about every night (oversharing being a suggestion from Bunno to get people off her case). It enraged her, the hypocrisy of being upset at her in a happy relationship while Anakin Skywalker was on the council and in the Queen's bed, or Master Kenobi and his affair with the Duchess. Unlike most within the Order, Bunno was approving of Elara's relationship.

When the purge started, Bunno and Elara were apart. While she escaped her own brush with death, by the time she boarded a fighter and went to find Bunno, she could no longer sense his presence with the Force. She never got definitive confirmation as to what happened to him. She presumes that he ran off to talk to someone, but when the clones showed up to help him as they always did, they did not help. Or, if it was outside a mission, he likely sensed something was off, as he always seemed to be able to do. Begging them not to do it wouldn't work against people who could not stop their fingers from pulling the trigger- and he wasn't about to strike first. It seemed almost impossible for Bunno to have survived the purge, even if Elara couldn't sense for supposed confirmation.

To hide, Elara had to shut out the Force to resist being hunted down by the inquisitors that the Empire started sending out after any remaining Jedi. She went into hiding with the aid of Hable, changed the tattoos on her face, and reemerged Ada Arrenda, Hable's wife. The two invested their money from their bounty-hunting and various odd jobs to become rich and live comfortably, letting Ada become a rich socialite and drown her sorrows and past in superficial friendships, business endeavors, and drinks.

Ada no longer honed her skills. She rarely used them, in fact. Aside from using her powers to aid in a business deal or help keep her identity under wraps, she quit being a Jedi altogether. Anything more was too dangerous, too painful, so she let her abilities atrophy except for the few abilities she still used.

Long after the purge, Ada was contacted by a member of the Alliance who was looking through old records of Jedi to determine whether or not they had died in search of allies. She was offered the opportunity to 'seek vengeance, or, at least, justice', and took it. While a little pessimistic on the Alliance's chances, she knows it's the right thing to do, and she has the credits and manpower to spare to do it, usually.

Motivation

Morality

Morality (71)
Strengths:
Compassion - Eira wants to help all those she comes across, just (Weakness) chooses not to come across many people outside of her class bubble because of the emotional/moral fatigue, guilt, empathy, and compassion she feels.
Pride - Eira does have a strong sense of self. She knows that she isn't inherently better because she survived, but she does know that her charisma certainly helped her stay hidden all these years. She's proud of the life she's built with her wife. People like her, they think she's beautiful, charming, and Put Together. She takes pride in this image of untouchability, and wealth. On that note, she also thinks others should take pride in their accomplishments. She finds people who act overly humble to be annoying, and fake.
Independence - After living through a time where she could not trust anyone (or, very few people), she has learned how to survive on her own, not needing to rely on anyone. While she can and has worked with others, she is competent on her own.

Weaknesses:
Weakness - She struggles to want to engage with All The Bad because it's too overwhelming, so she just ignores it.
Greed - While well off, she does feel safer with more credits in her account than not. If talking doesn't get her out of danger, credits do. She won't be so easily tempted- but she can be tempted.
Arrogance - She's not delusional about her abilities. She doesn't think she's perfect- but if someone tries to suggest she's not as good as she thinks she is, she can be quite caustic and willing to knock them down a peg. It truly depends on who's dealing the blow, though.
