Background
Kavin-Bo-Neen III was born to Kavin-Bo-Neen Jr. (Bo Junior) and his bond wife Ischmeth Ama. He grew up in a large family with 1 brother and 11 sisters from Kavin-Bo-Neen Jr.’s 6 other honor wives.
From the upper class of Cerea, the Bo-Neens owned extensive tecave grass plantations and were frequently members of the Council of Elders. However, following the Battle of Cerea in 22 BBY, the ancestral home and nearly all of the plantations were left in ruins. Bo Junior and his wives decided to take their still substantial holdings and relocate to the more peaceful planet of Bal’Reth. His father become an adjunct professor of Agriculture at the University of Bal’Reth and served as an advisor for multiple agricultural companies including Arcon Multinode Agricorp, Core Foodstuffs, Galactic Exotics, Greel Wood Logging Corporation, and Allied Grain and Roughage among others.
His father recognized Kavin’s Force sensitivity early and ensured that Kavin kept it hidden in order to shelter his only child born of his bond wife.
As a child Kavin enjoyed weekly visits with his family to the Museum of Bal’Reth, engaging in his studies, competing in his school’s debate team, and playing little league Sky Rowing. He has been a daily practitioner of meditative Shyarn sword form meditation (similar to Tai Chi).
Kavin was an exceptional student, being both intelligent and having mental Force sensitivities, he was able to easily ace the University of Bal’Reth entrance exams. At Bal U, he saw history as both a passion from his youth and a path to law school and so selected that as his major. He played on the Bal U. sky rowing and fencing teams.
Following a successful academic career at University of Bal’Reth, Kavin applied and was accepted to the Law Masters Program at University of Coruscant. There he continued his fencing and was able to secure a prestigious clerk position with the Eighth Hall of Commercial Appeals on Coruscant.
After graduation and passing the interplanetary bar, he was offered a position at the white shoe law firm Chavath, Allur & Garth LLIGP (a Muun, Cerean and Drall - prestigious law firm on Coruscant - chief client is the Bank of the Empire).
Kavin frequently wintered in Hoth for the hover skiing and three times was fortunate enough to go Twirrling. He love to talk about these outings.
At Chavath, Allur & Garth, Kavin was a top performer with an incredible win rate for his corporate clients. Fortunately for Kavin, Chavath, Allur & Garth was tapped by the Bank of the Empire to seize the assets of Galactic Electronics following said company’s illegal conveyance of mag pulse weapons to the Rebel Alliance. Kavin was fortunate to cut his teeth as co-counsel alongside Chavath for this case, and was promoted to junior partner as a result of his exceptional work in detailing all the assets, holding companies and intermediary corporations used by Galactic Electronics. This translated into numerous opportunities to work on treaties for worlds in the Corporate Sector Authority, as well as contracts for corporations and financial institutions.
As his income climbed, Kavin also demonstrated a propensity for savvy investing and had a wide range of investments throughout the Empire including Commerce Sector stocks, venture investment in many Sluissi & Kaminoan ventures, forex futures contracts (in particular a large short position in old Republic credits), and investments in Imperial backed bonds.
Chavath, who represented many cases of behalf of the Bureau of Ships and Services asked Kavin to take lead on the case Bureau of Ships and Services v. Twin Horns Storage. It was clear one of Vizago’s compatriots had been smuggling puffer pigs, but no witnesses where able to attest to BoSS’s digital records. Though the Twin Horns guilt was evident with clear means and motive, the lack of confirmation put the case on shaky legal grounds. Chavath promised Kavin that if he could win this case a promotion to equity partner at Chavath, Allur & Garth was “in the bag”. Highly motivated to prove his worth and bring a known criminal to justice Kavin prepared non-stop for weeks but was unable to close the witness loophole. While in a private courtroom anteroom prior to the cases’s start. He and the lawyer for the defendant were making failed final negotiations for settlement - the defense was certain on there win and there was no budging. Kavin, determined to win, waved his hand in front of the defense attorneys face, using his Influence Force powers, and pronounced, “It’s unfortunate you lost your legal brief and notes.”
Kavin won the case for BoSS and Chavath was initially ecstatic. However, Kevin’s use of the Force was captured on a secret security camera and he was taken in by Imperial Inquisitors for questioning.
Motivation
Kavin believes the Empire is the legal system and embettering the Galaxy by making it more stable. And while he has been steeped in Empire propaganda through the school system, he is smart and inquisitive enough to know there are many shades of grey and the victor dictates the narrative.
Kavin understands that the law has two sides and that those in power dictate the laws and the perceived morality that accompanies them.
He believes a robust well functioning legal structure benefits all, but he also has seen how the law is both wielded and broken by those in power and while he would like to see a perfect governing structure, isn’t above leveraging the structure for personal benefit.
Kavin is not above twisting the system to get the outcome he thinks is right or tweaking a right outcome to get additional personal advantage from the right outcome
My character wants a well governed stable system, but also wants to be an elite in whatever system.
Kavin enjoys investing and particularly investing in startups.
