While wearing their helmet, the user benefits from a General Purpose Scanner and adds 1 Boost Die to Perception checks made to detect movement or hidden enemies.

Integrated Ascension Gear
As an action. a character may make an Average Ranged (Light) check to secure the grappling hook to an object within medium range. On success, as an action, they may reel in the cord, pulling themself to the object (or, if the object is unsecured and lighter than they are, pulling it to them).
A character may use the grappling hook to pull another character aloft with them; if they do, they must make an Easy Athletics check to avoid losing their grip on their partner.

Telescopic Optical Sight (Heavy Blaster Rifle)
Reduce the difficulty of ranged combat checks at long and extreme range by one.

Defensive Stance 1 Once per round as a maneuver, suffer a number of Strain up to ranks in Defensive Stance to upgrade difficulty of all incoming melee attacks by an equal amount for the next round.

Background

Middle Class Struggles
Sometimes a character comes from modest, but comfortable conditions prior to entering a life of adventure. This broad category could include anything from a skilled technician, minor political official, professional soldier, or any other lifestyle that typically involves hard work—but with the pay to make it worthwhile.

In It for the Money
Bounty hunters are, at their core, exceedingly mercenary. While many bounty hunters may claim to adhere to some higher order or serve a greater good, at the end of the day, they all serve one master — money.

Motivation

Quiet Professionalism: There is an old saying in the bounty hunting trade that good work makes little noise, and the character is the embodiment of that. Like a master artisan, the character pursues bounties with far greater care and attention to detail than most. The PC sees little need for flashy accoutrements or ostentatious shows of prowess.

Obligations

Keeper of the Faith (20)
Much to many other freelancers' amusement, this character has sworn to faithfully uphold both the spirit and the letter of some code of honor. The PC believes very strongly in these edicts and adheres to them with an almost religious fervor. The character never knowingly breaks any of the rules laid down in the code, and may turn on colleagues who do so.

Vigilante (10)
The character has seen the wheels of justice grind up the innocent and let the guilty walk free. The character has sworn to take the law — or a version of it, at any rate — and bring justice to those who deserve it. When taking on contracts, this character tends to pursue the most hardened criminals.

Description

Mandalorians begin the game with their choice of either one rank in a combat skill of their choice, or one rank each in two knowledge skills of their choice. They still may not train these skills above rank 2 during character creation.
