Background
Her parents were endentured slaves. She was born into slavery. When her parents were freed, and she along with them, she idolised the people who ended the practice of slavery (the mighty politicians). She vowed to educate herself, and through sheer force of will, she learned to emulate them. Once she came of age, she vowed never to be become a slave again, and decided to see the universe, as her parents never had. She used her powers of persuasion, not money, to gain passage and any supplies she needed in her journeys.
