Illyana was born on a small backwater world of the Outer Rim. She grew up amid the the middle-class, and excelled at her studies. Her greatest hope was for the Empire to do what the Republic couldn't: Bring freedom and justice to the outer rim of the Galaxy.

She grew up to be severely disappointed, and the destruction of Alderaan proved a galvanizing experience for Illyana. With the Empire's atrocities in full view, the young mechanic sought out any opportunity to assist the growing Rebellion against the Empire.

She met her future husband, Kehn, during her first year as a freelance mechanic. He invited her aboard the Mercy as an engineer, and she has since proven herself more capable than he when it comes to astrogation.

The pair had an amazing chemistry, and before the end of the year, they chose to marry. Their daughter, Sharyn, was born soon after.

She has a deep love for her husband and daughter and would do anything to protect them. She initially felt betrayed when Kehn confessed his status as a Jedi Padawan in hiding. In light of the Empire's betrayal of the citizens it was to protect, however, she has come to understand that she had chosen the wrong side, and his deception was a matter of survival.

Several years ago, the Mercy responded to a distress call along the outer rim. They found a ruined village with little more than a handful of survivors. Among those few was a young orphan girl named Tayna. The Sabarets took her in, and in due time were surprised to learn that she, too, was sensitive to the Force.

Her own child's sensitivity caused Illyana to draw a line in the sand. While Illyana doesn't understand the link to this strange religious ideal that her children and husband share, she has witnessed its power. It has been enough to convince her that her belief in such things is irrelevant. The Force is real, despite everything she has been told to believe.

Shortly after the Battle of Hoth, her husband tragically gave his life to protect the rest of his family. Illyana has since made her way to the outer rim, intent on getting her children somewhere that the Empire can't reach. Even with the Alliance victory over Endor, she can feel that ever-encroaching presence of those who do not understand the gifts that her children possess. As such, they are sworn to secrecy regarding their abilities - and without a mentor, those have thankfully been limited to little more than childish pranks among the siblings.

Recently, the mother and her children found themselves under pirate attack. While Illyana was able to pilot the craft to relative safety, the Mercy is a non-functional wreck at the present time. The family removed what mementos they could and booked transport on a small refugee ship bound for Oogway. The small family has just arrived, and Illyana must now find a way to secure funds and parts to repair their home, all while keeping her children safe from those who fear the unknown - or seek to profit from it....

Relationship - Family: Illyana is mother to Tayna (adopted, 8) and Sharyn (biological, 12). She will do whatever she has to in order to keep her children safe.

Obligations:
Unfinished Business (10) - Illyana is obsessed with repairing the damage her ship has sustained. She will find a way to restore the vessel to working condition. The Mercy is their home, and they will have her back.

Family: Illyana's two children are all she has left. She will do anything and everything to keep them - and their secret - safe.

Illyana Sabaret is a human female in her early thirties. 5'6" with a fit build, blond hair just past shoulder-length and blue eyes. She is often wearing coveralls and an undershirt. When appropriate, she will shed half of her coveralls, wrapping them around her waist in an impromptu belt. When armed, she carries an H-7 Equalizer in a thigh-holster. She also often carries a sizeable wrench, usable both as a tool and an improvised (surprisingly effective) club.

She is never without her two children. Sharyn is 12 years of age and shares her mother's blond hair. Sharyn usually styles her hair to come down more across one side, but she still keeps her vision clear - mostly. She is naturally the more mature of the sisters, and often gets her younger sister out of the trouble she manages to find. Sharyn often wears rugged, durable clothing that leaves little room for 'girlish' fashion. That being said, she always has something _somewhere_ that is pink.

Her youngest is Tayna at 8 years of age. Unlike her sister and mother, Tayna has an often-untamed mop of fiery red hair and a dusting of freckles across her nose and cheeks. Her hair is often brought under control, pulled into a ponytail by the patient efforts of her mother and older sister. Tayna often wears casual, lighter clothes. While they usually start off white, it is fairly common that those clothes are in various states of dirty disrepair, as she plays every bit as hard as her older sister.

Both children wear belts with various pouches on them, clearly meant to contain knickknacks and a multi-tool that each of them may use when required.
