Background

EM-087 was a half-forgotten electrical engineering droid in the bowels of Nar Shaddaa, when Tel Yek Amek, a fugitive slicer, hacked it to gain a patsy to her latest scheme. Surprised with the apparent lucidity of the now-free droid, Tel Yek befriended the droid and named it "Shock" after giving it a stun-weapon modification.

A couple of years later Shock witnessed the death of Tel Yek at the hands of an Imperial Army crackdown somewhere in mid-Rim, and was left with the few belongings left by Tel Yek. For a while he plied his trade as a mechanic and computer maintenance droid, until someone reported him to the authorities and he had to run. Now, he is indebted to the pilot of the ship for saving him, and intends to pay back his saviour in full.

Obligations

Description

Shock is cobbled-together: most of the parts are not even from the same manufacturer. Originally a rather long-armed and spindly engineering droid is now much closer to human proportions. Head is a humanoid-esque shaped, with asymmetric eyes: the red one is an upgrade or replacement to the original, while the other retains the yellow lense of EM-series. Body and legs are from a pad-plated security droid, but with modifications and adjustments to better fit into the nooks and crannies as needed. Arms are asymmetrical, with the right one being highly sophisticated imitation of a human arm and the left looking more akin to a metal skeleton than a proper droid arm.
