Born in 24 BBY on the planet Dac, Lun Ri was a child when her planet was invaded by the empire in an attempt to capture escaped Jedi hiding there and destroy the independent Mon Calamari government. In 6 BBY, she joined with the Rebel Alliance to fight back against Imperial oppression and restore the Republic. She served on the MC80A-class Star Cruiser Defiance, and by the battle of Endor had become the ship's first officer. She continued to serve in the New Republic Navy for 6 years after, becoming the captain of the Defiance. However, as the New Republic's war against the Ascendancy progressed, Lun Ri became increasingly disillusioned with the new government she was serving. In 10 ABY, she retired from service and has been using her pension to travel worlds near the front lines and help the people there rebuild.

Growing up in the relatively idyllic representative democracy of Dac, Lun Ri was struck by the stark contrast between her homeworld and the rest of the galaxy. She spent most of her adult life fighting the Empire in an attempt to restore the Republic, which she in error believed to be an ideal system. She now works to aid those she feels the New Republic has abandoned.

Lun Ri works for the Galactic Reconstruction Initiative, a non-profit dedicated to helping the people of the galaxy rebuild and recover from the Galactic Civil War. Her job is flying cargo to places and people who need help.

Lun Ri is an older Mon Calamari woman with green eyes. Her skin was once a vibrant deep blue, but age has faded it to near black. She has six unadorned barbels on her chin. When she's working, she wears the tan flightsuit of a GRI pilot, with the organization's logo on it's back. When she is off-duty, she wears traditional Mon Calamari garb, a reminder of a home she rarely gets to visit.
