Background
Idta never received a formal education but comes from a matriarchal line of female healers and learned the art of medicine from an early age.
As a young girl, she and her mother would travel from property to property in their community healing people, standing by them as they passed, helping give birth to children, and checking up on everyone. The communities here tended to be rather isolated, so they would welcome her and her mother in happily when they came, meaning that she grew up being welcomed into peoples homes and relying on that warmth and validation that healing gave her.
Idta's father left them when she was younger, but her mother never really talked about him, though she does guess that he was at least part Mandalorian, as her mother always tried to keep her away from them, and wouldn’t take her with her when she went out to treat one. A few would sometimes try to approach her, but were never successful. (her mother, Innari, is a FEARSOME woman.) Idta is not particularly bothered by who her father might have been, since she loves her mother and family enough that it doesn’t matter. Her grandmother and uncle were also around for most of her childhood. Her uncle, Ranso, married when she was 6, and has several children that she helped raise and is rather close to.
She has two younger half siblings that are twins who are both 10 y/o. They had a litter of kathhounds they were raising, and the boys loved them dearly, so Idta always associates the animals with her little brothers. Her stepfather and her get along, though aren’t as close as her mother would like. (This is an understatement, Idta does not to well with male authority figures.) The twins are boys, so weren’t expected to be healers, and instead were learning to be farmers from their father, helping him on his land. Moving to his property ended up being a good thing for them, as the rebels soon set up a base near where she and her mother had lived for years and brought a lot of trouble with them. Dantooine had been extraordinarily peaceful for a while before this, and while Idta might be bored at times, she was not happy to see conflict brought into her home world.
She was conscripted into the imperial army 6 months ago, shortly after they took the rebel’s previous base on Dantooine. She is the oldest child in her family, and was the only one that qualified for service besides her uncle. Her mother injured her leg and uses a walking staff, so was not conscripted. Idta is fairly young and green, and has never been in combat, serving as a medic since the beginning of her service, but did receive some training and ended up being not a bad shot, though is abysmal at hand-to-hand combat.
Idta’s main complaint throughout her childhood and into the present was that she was bored. She was exceptionally bright, and while healing could sometimes give her a challenge, she and her mother were not doing terribly difficult work. She was unchallenged and restless. On top of this, there was no thriving social life in her community, and while her mother and her were respected, she felt a distance between her and the other children, though she kept this well hidden. On the surface it seems as if Idta is a happy go lucky girl with no concerns, who gets along with everyone, and is very trusting. And for the most part, this is true, but she tends to be far more apathetic than she lets on. She does enjoy healing people, and the puzzle of how best to treat injuries and assess then fix a situation, and the joy of a person being healed and the community the experience brings her. Idta will always feel closer to a person after treating them and has a soft spot for people who are injured or that she has treated in the past. She loved playing pranks with her brothers, and teases those she is fond of relentlessly, showing a quick sense of humor, and springing pranks on them when they least expect it. She has been rather unhappy to have to constrain this aspect of her personality in the military. She really just wants to get home, and is upset because, despite being excited about meeting new people and seeing the universe, the people in the army aren’t particularly nice, and some of them don’t even thank her after she heals them. She trusts females more than males, especially as authority figures, but is feircly loyal to those she puts her trust in, though the number of people this applies to can be counted on one hand. (literally, the number is 5).
Motivation
Idta wants to heal people, and refuses to lose a life or be considered lacking in her field. She is extremely prideful, and refuses to reflect badly on her home planet or her family.
She is torn between the competing motivations to be challenged and find fulfilment in the professional sense, but also her desire to be home and with her family.
Idta is motivated by loyalty above all, when that applies.
She is very despondent at the moment, upset and disillusioned by her lack of autonomy and ability to make her own decisions, as well as being forced into a war when she doesn't believe in violence.
Duties
Idta was brought on as the main healer under Sgt. Patre Aartur, and they got along very well, all things considered. She is in charge of not only healing injuries sustained in battle, but overseeing the general wellness of her comrades.
Description
She is small in stature, barely reaching 5'4", and has the childish personality to match her appearance. She has a scar on her face from an incident when she was a kid involving some local boys messing with a broken down speeder, and now has a distrust for technology, not fearing it, but preferring the natural world.
