Aren Terix was always slightly larger than other karkarodon, eventually roaming around at 6'6 as an adult. He was able to best all other karkarodon who tried to fight him in order to steal food or gain notoriety, as he always had a sense of when he was going to be attacked, and was always stronger. He would also fight off or eat anyone who found themselves on his planet, as in his own mind, he was ruler of this part of Karkaris.

One day, Aren was exploring an island on , when he saw a man, who turned out to be a sith lord named Darth Cahrnus, carving up another karkarodon, presumably to eat. Enraged at this, Aren went to attack the man, but was defeated after a struggle, mainly due to Charnus' ability with the force.

Although he could have killed Aren then and there, Charnus was intrigued with the potential a physical specimen like Aren could have when trained to be a sith. Therefore he offered him a chance at life, but only if he would be put under sith control and train to be a sith himself. Aren accepted, fearful of the Charnus' power, as he had never been bested in a fight before, and took this as an opportunity to grow even stronger, now knowing that there could be people stronger than him from other worlds.

Due to his karkarodon nature, Aren constantly seeks to gain power and strength, using almost any means (he has learned means other than brute force since his sith training began). The attributes he gains will eventually lead to him ruling his whole planet of Karkaris, when he is able/decides to return there.

Aren seeks to eventually fight Darth Charnus again, to prove to himself that he can become a being who cannot be beaten in a fight.
