The LE-M0 Medical Droids were designed to provide emergency medical care, search, rescue and support services. This LE-M0 droid was deployed as part of an emergency search and rescue team on a mining planet rich in resources but with a very hostile atmosphere and some aggressive native fauna. When the Empire subsumed the Republic, LE-M0's planet was rapidly subjugated and most of LE-M0's masters and colleges were killed in the process. The blatant disregard for life and safety shown by the Imperial forces ran so counter so LE-M0's programming, that when the renaming members of the planetary defense force and the few miner prospectors that survived sought out the rebellion, LE-M0 was happy to accompany them.

It is unclear whether this is due to some creative programming or a glitch that took hold in the harsh environs where LE-M0 was first deployed, but there is something about the moment of rescue amid a mine collapse, or rushing past the claws of a marauding creature to save a life that makes him feel ALIVE. These days LE-M0 has come to seek out that feeling, and it has prompted him into reckless actions, such as charging into a firefight to retrieve a fallen comrade or seal a crucial blast door. LE-M0 will recount tails of the many times such heroics have gone well, but the scored and patched condition of his laminate plating indicate that it may have gone poorly just as many times.

Personnel
More than equipment, credits or information, the sentient beings of the Alliance are the most important and vial assets there are. LE-M0 is defoted to seeing to their safety, well-being and capacity for success. No one should ever be left behind; the most successful missions might not achieve every goal, but they are successful nonetheless when no one dies.
