The basic power has two ways to spend Force points:
• The user may spend 1 Force point to sense all living things within short range of himself (includi-ng both animals and sentient beings).
• The user may spend 1 Force point to sense the current emotional state of one living target with whom he is engaged.

Background
Vander’s home was a relatively peaceful one on the outer edge of the Mid Rim. Peaceful but freedom loving. When the Empire started knocking on their door his people decided to resist, a disastrous decision. He took what he could and saved as many as possible. The survivors drifting around the Outer Rim for a time as mercenaries. As they started to form bonds and make new families, Vander knew they couldn't keep drifting. The resource rush on Hyberna offered an opportunity for the survivors and Vander has led his people to the cold world to put down roots…
What he could not, and still does not, know is that he is the reason the Empire came to his world. His connection to the Force, while weak, is a threat to Imperial interests. They may not know specifically who he is, but they know that there is a current of the Force running through his people. Unknown to Vander, he has been subconsciously using the Force for most of his life, in subtle ways.
Motivation

Vander is motivated to protect and shepherd his people, the survivors of an ill fated local rebellion against the Empire. He includes anyone who aids or defends his people in that, and would go to the wall for anyone he calls friend.

Tall and square jawed, with piercing blue eyes and a mop of sandy blonde hair. Vander cuts a dashing figure with a crisp dark suit, light cloak thrown over the top, sword and heavy blaster on either hip.
