Notes
Building from the Balutar-class as a base, MandalMotors designed the Kal-class swoop as a rapid-response squad-support vehicle, able to assist with transportation and fire support in urban environments where Kom'rk-class Assault Ships won't fit or would draw too much attention.
Midway through development, their intentions for the design expanded to become a more adaptable craft, able to support units in a variety of roles through the use of modular segments and trailers.
The swoop has a space behind the pilot that can equip a single module from the following:
Passenger Module: Increases Passenger Capacity by 1.
200/4, 5 Encumbrance when detached.
Cargo Module: Increases the swoop's Encumbrance Capacity by 11.
400/5, 5 Encumbrance when detached.
Advanced Sensors/Comms Module: Increases the swoop's Sensor Range by one planetary-scale range band.
1,000/6, 5 Encumbrance when detached.
Advanced Avionics and Stabilizers Module: Increases the swoop's Handling by 1, increases max ceiling by 25 meters.
1,500/7, 5 Encumbrance when detached.
In addition, it can tow one of the following trailers:
Passenger Trailer: Increases Passenger Capacity by 6, reduces Handling by 1.
750/5.
Cargo Trailer: Increases Encumbrance Capacity by 20, reduces Handling by 1.
1,500/6.
Utility Trailer: Increases Encumbrance Capacity by 10. Includes a DF-15 Fusion Lantern and a Tool Kit. In addition, it adds a Boost to Mechanics checks made to repair droids or devices. Reduces Handling by 1.
2,000/7.
Medevac Trailer: Can carry one injured soldier and allows Engaged characters to use the Medicine skill without penalty. In addition, it adds a Boost to Medicine checks made to heal Critical Injuries. Reduces Handling by 1.
2,500/7.
