The prototype high speed walker designed by the famous podracer Sebulba. The Empire wanted a faster walker that could engage in heavy cover terrains like jungles, canyons, and forests; areas where their TIE fighters didn't fare so well, and other walkers were too slow. In order to make this project successful, Sebulba had to sacrifice armor and hull trauma thresholds, but due to his extensive knowledge of Podracing he was able to increase the system strain threshold and provide a rear integrated thruster than could be engaged on a straight-away run. A truly remarkable feat. Exclusive to this walker are two prototype weapon system, an Ultra-Light Ion Cannon and Blaster cannon. If successful, this weapon upgrade could be integrated onto any New TIE's in production as well.

Lard Vader oversaw this project personally. Knowing that the Rebel Alliance were using small speeders he wanted something that could engage the enemy rather quickly, mostly keep up with them, and knock them out with its ion cannon.
