Background

Born on Mandalore in 48 BBY, during a time when factions of Mandalorians were fighting a bloody civil war for control of not only the planet, but the very hart of what makes a Mandalorian.
This war decimated many Clans and Houses.
Several of these Clans that supported the True Mandalorian faction were so badly depleted that other Clans and Houses attempted to acquire those resources through intimidation or through force.
Around 42BBY, To prevent further losses several weakened Clans banded together and decided a "Ba'slan Shev'la" (Strategic Disappearance) was the wisest decision to maintain their Clan identities.
Four Clans took what they had left and moved to a planet in the Outer Rim that was an ancestral fall back point. They named it Haven.

These Clans established a Trading Post and Spaceport named Keldab'yaim
A Brewery, Distillery and Agriculture provide goods to export to the surrounding sector.

In 39BBY a slavery ring named 'The Thorned Circle" attempted a raid on what they thought was a helpless farming community, after initial success things quickly turned againced them. It started when a 9yr old Kara stabbed one of the groups Lieutenant in the femoral artery. In a matter of minutes Mandalorians assaulted the camp, as a couple of Kom'rk-class and Fang Fighters attacked the slaveship in orbit.
Making quick work of the disorianted slavers, the Clans freed the captured slaves, offering passage or a new home. Many decided to stay and work with their liberators in making a new life for themselves.
Over the next couple of years, the remainder of 'The Thorned Circle" were hunted down and destroyed. Their captives given the same choice; transit home or a new life on Haven.

When Kara turned 16 in 32BBY, she decided to leave Haven and surrounding sector to travel the wider galaxy, doing odd jobs as she traveled.
A little Bounty Hunting, some Mercenary work, but always returning home after a couple contracts to help around the family farm. Until the next couple of contracts.

Around 26 BBY, she met other Mandalorians in similar situations and agreed to pool their resources every once and a while in the profitable years leading to the Clone Wars...

Motivation

Freedom.
For the Clan, freedom is held very highly that it boarders on disrespectful to those who require show of loyalty. The Clan refuses to kneel to anyone: Mandalorian Houses, Republics.. even the occasional Sith, looking to hire muscle.
The only loyalty shown is the word that the Warrior gave.

Relationship.
With family and clan, and those worthy enough to be friends of the clan.

Obligations

Dutybound (10) Strong sense of duty to those she serves with and completing a contract. (Unless the customer breaks the conditions of the contract.)
