Jakar was born on Naboo and raised by a single father after his mother died in child birth. His father raised him there until the age of 9 when he took out a loan to buy a ship and become a space trader. He and his father traveled together for 3 years earning a tidy profit and seeing the galaxy. His life was radically changed one day when their ship was attacked by pirates, and he and his father fought desperately for survival until a nearby imperial patrol came and intercepted the attackers, boarding the ship and killing everyone. After the battle the Imperial officer named Captain Adra Adul, an ambitious young female captain, interrogated his father and realized the value of what he had aboard, she told her troopers to open fire on him, killing him and taking the goods for herself, and then covering it up in her reports claiming he was killed in the crossfire. She then kidnapped Jakar and forced him to serve aboard the ship performing tasks she deemed either too mundane or too dangerous for her crew. After 6 months, she was promoted to a new station and given a larger ship, and at this time she sold the boy into a labor camp in the outer rim. From there he was forced into terrible labor, and bought and sold multiple times before ending up in an imperial vehicle factory a year and a half later. Fortunately for him this factory was the target of a Rebel sabotage mission, and when the attack happened, he and a handful of the other slaves were able to escape the facility only to be picked up by rebel forces. Here he was given a choice, join the rebellion, or try and survive on his own. As a runaway slave he stood little chance of survival without their aid, so he enlisted undergoing significant training in the process. After 4 years of rigorous training he was given his first assignment, a simple recon operation. However the force was with him that day as the imperial forces on the planet had discovered the location of the rebel cell and they came under attack while he was out on assignment. Realizing what happened he seized the opportunity to steal a poorly guarded Lambda shuttle, and used it to escape the planet, fleeing to the outer rim, he sold the shuttle to the first person he could pawn it off to, and tried to disappear into the shadows and lie low for awhile. However without any credentials, connections, or leads his funds quickly dwindled and he began taking odd jobs for local underworld organizations making a meager living, and taking any chance to strike back against the imperials who had caused him so much heartache. After 2 years he managed to find a spacer who was recruiting for the rebellion at his local cantina, and feeling an obligation to pay them back for his years of training, he enlisted on a 1 year contract. Obtaining a new ID in the process, allowing him to function in normal society.
