Avi graduated near the top of his class and was highly respected as a physician. Until the day when a Criminal Kingpin’s daughter was mortally wounded and the Kingpin kidnapped the best medical personnel he could in an effort to save her. After the daughter died on the operating table, the Kingpin took his grief out on Avi, blaming him for the death of his daughter. Avi was beaten, and his family were killed. The Kingpin then used his political influence to strip Avi of his medical license and exiled from Pantora and it’s colonies. Now a broken man, Avi wanders the space lanes, crawling into a bottle when he can afford it, constantly harassed by the Syndicate if he ever tries to setup a medical practice.

(Avi spent a year in a drunken stooper, constantly getting in fights due to his abrasive personality, when he had a run in with a traveling Mandalorian. Avi offered medical assistance in exchange for transport to a different planet, since he had clearly overstayed his welcome on the current one. So far the mutual aid agreement seems to work for the pair; Avi thinks it’s better to travel with a “barbarian” than to constantly worry about the Syndicate. )
